Flight
Most or all of you who are flying into Poland will fly into this airport in Warsaw. I recommend flying to Warsaw Chopin (WAW) over flying to Lublin (LUZ) as you would have to have a layover in WAW in order to get to LUZ anyway, and it is cheaper to take a bus or train from WAW to Lublin Bus Station rather than a 2 leg flight to LUZ. Take a look at the other travel options on this page to see how you get to Lublin from Warsaw by bus or train.
Train
The Bride and her family will be traveling to Lublin from Warsaw by train on September 26th, 2024. Departure time is TBD, if you are interested in riding with us please contact Lauren directly and she will add you to a list so that we can tell you what train to book. The train travel time is approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes from Warsaw to Lublin. Trains can be booked online via the link below. You can select English as your language in the upper right corner. If you need help booking your train tickets please reach out to Lauren or Michał, we can help! Sometimes the website is finnicky and does not want to display in English. Recommended departure station: WARSZAWA CENTRALNA Recommended arrival station: LUBLIN GŁÓWNY To take the train back from Lublin Główny to Warszawa Centralna, simply search those destinations and choose your ticket. If you want to get to Warsaw Airport from Lublin rather than Warsaw City Center, then I recommend you buy a ticket on the bus instead. You can easily take a bus from Warsaw to Lublin. The ride is approximately 2 hours. In fact, there is one bus option that will pick you up at Warsaw Chopin International Airport and take you straight to Lublin Bus Station, which is in the center of town. Bus from Warsaw Airport to Lublin: ContBus https://bilety.contbus.pl/KupBilet.aspx Remember to select the English language setting on the upper right corner! Simply select the date you would like to travel and select the option on the right labelled "CHOPIN AIRPORT -> LUBLIN" Please note that if you are looking to book more than 2 months in advance, it is possible that ContBus does not have tickets available for that date yet. You can also take the bus from Warsaw City Center to Lublin Bus Station. I recommend selecting a trip that will depart from Warsaw West Station or Warsaw Central due to the convenient location in the center of the city. You can take the bus from any station, however, if the departure times from Warsaw West Station or Warsaw Central are not ideal. Warsaw is not a very big city and you can easily get to any station via public transportation or Bolt (Uber for Poland). Bus from Warsaw West Station to Lublin: FlixBus https://shop.flixbus.com/ To get back to Warsaw from Lublin, simply search the same with opposite destinations.
Travel Note
While Uber does work in Poland, it is a lot more expensive than it needs to be. I recommend you download the app Bolt, it is identical to Uber but priced proportionally to Poland. It is significantly cheaper and works great. You can also order food to your hotel if you want to through Bolt Food.
Travel Note
Have you ever been to 7-11? Well, this is much better. Go to Żabka! Very cheap prices and a large selection of Polish snacks, both freshly made and prepackaged. You can buy drinks as well as some toiletries, such as feminine hygiene products, toothpaste, wipes, kleenex, and so on. You can find a Żabka on any street corner in Poland. Sometimes you will find two.
Travel Note
No problem! I highly recommend you search for "Rossmann" on your maps to find one near you. It's like the Polish equivalent of CVS, and you can find all kinds of toiletries, beauty supplies, and medications there.
Travel Note
Almost all restaurants and stores in Warsaw and Lublin accept debit or credit cards. In fact, most prefer you to use a card rather than use cash!
