The first time we met may be up to debate but I will never forget the first time I saw Lauren. I remember how beautiful she was and I was to shy to introduce myself. I had asked a friend if he knew who she was. He told me her name and that she was rushing a sorority. Later that semester we had finally met during a social event. At first, she had no interest in meeting any boys; let alone, starting a relationship. I...was the opposite and wanted nothing more than to get to know her better. Over the next year in college, every time we had social events or went to the bars; I always tried to spend just a few moments with her. I would buy her a drink every night and ask how she was doing to get to know her better. I hoped if anything, she at least enjoyed those few minutes with me each night getting a free drink before flying off like the social butterfly she was. As many of you may know, I am not much for going out every night but if I heard she was going to be at one of the bars, I wanted to spend time with her, even if only for a moment. I knew she was special and I couldn't let myself being shy become anything I would regret. I had finally worked up the courage to ask her out on a date...she said no. However, I didn't want our time together to end and I decided she was worth fighting for a chance...over and over. Finally, one day she said yes to going to the movies with me. Although, it wasn't until later I learned she didn't know I thought it was a date until her roommates told her! Months later, on May 4th, 2011 at 11:11 PM, I worked up the courage once more to ask her to be my girlfriend and she said yes! We have shared countless memories and each day I love her more. Lauren is the person I never knew I was waiting for until I met her. She stole my heart that first day I saw her and I didn't even know it yet. Six years later, on December 23rd, 2017, I got down on one knee and asked the love of my life to spend the rest of her life with me...she said yes!
