Lauren was never a fan of football until February 7th, 2016. It was Super Bowl 50 & she was assigned to the Blue Angels as their official police escort after they had completed the flyover at Levi Stadium. After a seamless flyover, Lauren was so excited to meet and escort the Blue Angels around the SB50 festivities! She watched Blue Angel shows as a little girl & called her family & friends to tell them about the cool assignment! Among all the buzz of Super Bowl festivities, they had found a way to enjoy the buzz, literally, & were quite a rambunctious group! When Matt introduced himself she thought, "He's obviously has some drinks, & why is he so tan?" Little did she know that the Blues had just completed their Winter training in the sunny desert of El Centro & were enjoying a much needed break from their rigorous training. Lauren loaded all the Blues in a 12 passenger van & after failed attempts to get into the Bronco's After Party, Matt suggested a California tradition... In-N-Out Burgers. All Lauren remembered while sitting across from Matt as he ate his burger was him talking about his workout routine. Some things never change! At the conclusion of the night, Lauren dropped the group off at the base & Matt was reluctant to end the night. He repeatedly asked her where they could go to continue the fun, but Lauren reminded him several times that at 3am, there was not a lot of options! Eventually Matt decided going to bed was ideal, but not after asking to take a picture with Lauren. She kindly declined since there was a strict rule to not engage in photos with any Superbowl participants. Matt reminded her that the Superbowl was over & took out his phone. He looked at his phone and told Lauren his phone had no more memory and that she would have to take the picture with her phone & send it to him. Very sly on his part! And the rest was history! Well not exactly, but the important thing is that they parted ways both believing they would see each other again!
