Things To Do

Sunday (9/28) will be a “free” day to explore the area and do whatever piques your interest. Here are some places & activities we’ve enjoyed on previous trips!
Acadia National Park

Acadia National Park

Bar Harbor, ME

We definitely recommend exploring the park on your own! There are so many beautiful spots along the Park Loop Road, and a ton of great hikes too. We strongly suggest saving any intense trails for after the wedding day :)

Sunrise on Cadillac Mountain

Sunrise on Cadillac Mountain

Bar Harbor, ME

This is an incredible no-hike view; you can drive right up! Vehicle reservations are required (separate from your park entry pass) and cost $6. This can be competitive— they make 30% of the reservations available 90 days in advance, and the remaining 70% are available at 10am two days in advance of the reservation date. Matt and I plan to do this (if we can get a reservation) on Sunday 9/28, if you’d like to join us!

Provender Kitchen + Bar

Highly recommend this spot for dinner. Only a 1 minute drive/7 minute walk from where we’re staying!

Great spot for breakfast with indoor and outdoor spaces

Great Head Trail

Great Head Trail

Great Head Trail (Acadia National Park), Bar Harbor, ME 04609

This is a nice little hike with ocean views. It’s a 1.9 mile loop (about 1 hour). This trail is pretty easy but does have some rock scrambling sections. To get to this trail, park at Sand Beach and walk all the way to the far end of the beach. The trail starts at the granite steps. Up the steps you’ll see a split; take the path to the right, then follow the blazes (colored spray paint lines) for the duration of the hike.

Atlantic Brewing Midtown

Atlantic Brewing Midtown

52 Cottage Street, Bar Harbor, ME 04609

Nice brewery with tasty appetizers. We loved the cheese plate and soft pretzel

Bass Harbor Head Light Station

Bass Harbor Head Light Station

116 Lighthouse Road, Tremont, ME 04653

Beautiful spot to watch the sunset. Get there early as parking is limited and the good “seats” (rocks) quickly fill up!

For all the days along the way
