STYLE: Semi-Formal - Suits for the gentlemen and gowns or cocktail dresses for the ladies. COLORS: To allow the natural beauty of Acadia to shine, we kindly ask that all guests stick to earth tones (i.e. greens, blues, browns/tans, gray). Muted shades are strongly preferred. Please no neon or bright colors. A color guide can be found on the Gallery page; anything in that family or similar is great (does not need to be those exact shades). We thank you in advance! FOOTWEAR: We recommend either wearing shoes with treads or bringing two pairs (changing into your formal shoes upon arrival at the ceremony location). The ceremony spot is easy to get to, but is rocky and can be slippery depending on the weather. For those who choose to wear heels, low block heels are strongly recommended. Please no stilettos - we want everyone to be safe and comfortable!
Yes! Each vehicle will need to have a Private Vehicle Pass displayed on the dashboard. PLEASE PURCHASE & PRINT YOUR PASS BEFORE ARRIVING IN MAINE :) The pass is $35 and can be purchased here: https://www.nps.gov/acad/planyourvisit/fees.htm The pass is valid for 7 days. If you plan to enter the park prior to the day of the ceremony (and we recommend you do!), be sure to purchase it for a start date of 9/27/25 or 9/28/25.
We've arranged an incredible stay for all of us at a beautiful, spacious home in Ellsworth, ME. We have you completely covered! YES - completely! Please see the "Travel" page for more information.
The property in Ellsworth is approximately 45 minutes from the ceremony location in Acadia. As we get closer, we will provide a detailed wedding day schedule with travel times factored in.
We kindly ask that you coordinate whom you plan to drive with, and encourage carpooling to minimize the number of cars that enter the park. This will make it easier for our group to find parking, and it will keep the number of park passes that need to be purchased to a minimum.
We know this is unusual, but there is a method to our madness! Acadia can be extremely busy on the weekends, and we are not allowed to "claim" a specific spot in the park. Having the ceremony on a weekday provides us with the best chance at privacy, will help with parking availability, and will allow our photographer to capture the best photos of our special day!
We are unfortunately unable to accommodate plus-ones, due to restrictions on the property we will be staying at. Additionally, it is very important to us that our weekend is as intimate as possible. For this reason, we are choosing to celebrate with only our closest family and friends.
