This love story begins with Universal Athletic. A sporting goods company, where Levi worked as a sales rep in Arizona and Lauren worked as a sales rep in California. They officially met at the national sales meeting in Bozeman, Montana in 2016 where they spent the weekend bonding over sports, life and vodka sodas. After that weekend was over, they both went their separate ways, but thankfully were able to keep in touch because Levi asked for Lauren's snapchat handle (chivalry is not dead, ladies). Soon after, Levi built up the courage to get Lauren's phone number and they would spend hours talking on the phone. This ultimately led to Levi inviting himself to Lauren's Halloween party, where he hopped in the car that day and drove six hours to see her. What was supposed to be just a weekend getaway, turned into the two of them spending a week together (where Levi was thrown into meeting Lauren's entire family on day four). They knew they had something special, and that whirlwind of a week turned into two and a half years of long distance dating filled with countless facetime dates/car rides/flights between Arizona and California. This long distance chapter ended when they bought a home together in Oceanside, California and their next chapter was about to begin!

This chapter begins when Levi and Lauren were on their annual family vacation to Maui, Hawaii with the Oosdyke family. Lauren's mom and dad (Chris and Bob), and her brother (Brett) were all in tow. On the second day of their vacation, everyone went down to a local restaurant to enjoy happy hour Mai Tai's (because who doesn't drink Mai Tai's while on vacation in Maui?). After sipping those down way too easily, Chris, Bob and Brett went back to the hotel, but Levi wanted to go "shop" for a golf polo at the nearby mall (but he was really just secretly timing the sunset). Levi quickly bought a polo and then asked Lauren if she wanted to walk along the beach back to the hotel. She was reluctant at first, as she had just showered and didn't want to get her feet all "sandy" (what a diva). Little did she know that that walk in the sand would be worth the sandy feet. Right before they got back to the hotel, Levi got down on one knee and popped the question (with Chris, Bob and Brett secretly recording the whole event from behind palm trees). SHE SAID YES of course! Lauren was completely surprised, and they both had shed lots of happy tears. A family champagne celebration followed, and even random people passing by stopped and clapped for the newly engaged couple. Last but not least, Levi had hired a suprise photographer (smart move Levi!) who showed up and captured the special moments that everyone will cherish forever! It's official -- Lauren and Levi are getting MAUI'D!
