Known as the gateway to the famous Tail of the Dragon, Deals Gap is a popular stop for drivers, motorcyclists, and sightseers. It’s a great place to grab a photo, see some cool cars/motorcycles and soak in the mountain scenery before or after the twisty drive.
Cherohala Skyway
A stunning scenic byway that winds through the Cherokee and Nantahala National Forests, offering beautiful mountain views. This is also where we got engaged — so it’s extra special to us! The Huckleberry Knob Trail is an easy hike with a breathtaking summit.
River's End Restaurant
A cozy spot right on the Nantahala River, perfect for enjoying a meal with a view of the water. Known for good food and the relaxing sound of rushing rapids right next to you!
Big Wesser Riverside Pub
A laid-back riverside pub at the Nantahala Outdoor Center. Great for craft beers and unwinding while watching kayakers and rafters navigate the rapids.
Natahala Outdoor Center
A hub for adventure in the Smokies! Offers whitewater rafting, ziplining, kayaking, and hiking, plus shops and restaurants. Even if you’re not into extreme sports, it’s worth a visit for the shop and scenery.
