Let the party begin!

Josh and Lauren were both working from home during the COVID-19 pandemic. Neither one would frequently dress up since they were practicing social distancing. With their 2 year anniversary the next day, Lauren mentioned wanting to post a nice picture with a sappy reflection on their relationship. Josh agreed, with the caveat that we would take a nice picture that night to go with it. Lauren obliged. While Lauren was running her evening support group, Josh snuck to meet with his brother, Alex, to give him the camera. Once group was over and Josh knew Lauren was in a good mood, he surprised her with fancy "adult Capri Suns" from Swillburger, where they had their first date. They then walked hand in hand down to the riverfront. Lauren was anxious to get a nice picture and wondered why Josh chose to sit at a bench instead of using the camera in his bag to take a picture. Soon after, Josh ran into a coworker who quickly rushed off after seeing Alex in a mask behind the tree giving the "sh" sign. Josh then got down on one knee and asked Lauren to marry him. The gasp from Lauren was audible enough that neighbors who were on their patios clapped and said congratulations! Lauren obviously said yes, and cannot wait to become a part of the Baer family!

Since Josh proposed to Lauren during the pandemic, neither knew what the future would have in store, especially in regards to wedding celebrations. They felt comfortable in planning a small minimony with immediate family for August 2021, followed by a sequel wedding with all of our loved ones for June of 2022. By then, they hope that peope will feel more comfortable travelling and ceebrating Josh and Lauren’s marriage to its fullest!
