Lauren and Joe’s love story started the modern way — with a swipe — but the real magic happened at a concert, where they instantly clicked. From that first night, music became the soundtrack of their lives together. From dancing in crowds to squeezing in golf, hitting the slopes, playing volleyball, chasing Illenium, Slander, Excision, or Subtronics across state lines, and traveling the world, they've built a life full of laughter, playlists, and purpose, and their relationship thrives on adventure, laughter, and just a little chaos. Joe is a free spirit — an Army veteran turned AWS engineer - lives for spontaneous ideas, big fun, and maybe going slightly overboard. Lauren is the grounded dreamer — a cost analyst at AEP with an MBA, an industrial design degree, and an impressive ability to keep their world running smoothly (and on budget) - brings equal parts creativity and strategy to everything she does — from planning the perfect trip to dreaming up their future home. Together, they’re the perfect remix of energy and intention. Together, they’re raising Ralphie — the world’s sweetest, smartest mini Bernedoodle — who owes his manners entirely to Lauren and his wild streak to Joe. They’re excited to keep building a life filled with love, late-night playlists, and very well-budgeted magic. This wedding is just the next stop in their big, joyful adventure — and they can’t wait to celebrate with you! Their wedding in Cancun is the ultimate celebration: a tropical festival of love at golden hour. Guests are invited to show up in vibrant sunset colors — painting the crowd like the sky — and join them for a weekend full of unforgettable moments, joyful beats, and memories that will last long after the final encore. Because for Lauren and Joe, this isn’t just a wedding. It’s their biggest drop yet. 🎶✨
Joe’s favorite: the first time we went golfing together. He had been bitten by the golf bug and asked if Lauren would ever want to learn. She said sure — even though she’d never touched a club. After a couple trips to the range, Joe took Lauren to a beginner’s course, fully expecting she’d get frustrated and hate it. Instead… she played really well — even getting a hole on par her first time out. He was shocked, a little jealous, but mostly excited that he just found his new golf buddy. Lauren’s favorite: the night Joe and Lauren met. They connected online but met for the first time in real life at a Dirt Monkey show at Skully’s on February 19, 2022 — one of the first concerts after COVID where the dance floor wasn’t blocked off. They danced all night, and afterward sat in Joe’s jeep (with massive subs and glowing lights) listening to Onyx, Excision’s newest album, starting with “Our Fire.” The night turned into morning, and he went straight to work while she drove home with a gut feeling that this was something real. She even turned around before leaving to ask, “Is it weird if I want to take a picture with you?” because she knew this was the beginning of something life-changing.🎶
All You Need to Know – Gryffin & SLANDER, Calle Lehmann Walk on Water – SLANDER, RØRY Nightlight - Illenium, Annika Wells Vibe-wise, they’re a ride-or-die couple who’s built something strong and real. They don’t really have a “movie couple” inspiration, but if you mixed bass music, anime, growth, and loyalty into a love story — that’d be them. Maybe a touch of Scott Pilgrim’s weirdness with more heart. Definitely not traditional — and that’s exactly how they like it.
Joe was determined to kick off the new year with more than just fireworks. He insisted they go to Excision’s Detroit NYE show — even though Lauren wasn’t exactly eager to spend money on a ticket for an artist she’s seen over 30 times since 2011. What she didn’t know was that Joe had a much bigger plan. Before they left, Joe strategically left the ring box out at home to throw Lauren off, making her think a proposal wasn’t happening that night. In reality, he had asked their friend Li to buy a new, light-up ring box that would make the diamond glow when the moment finally came. Once inside the venue, nerves (and chaos) kicked in — Joe actually lost the ring on the crowded dance floor before their friend Li swooped in to save it. Midnight struck, the countdown ended, and balloons and streamers rained from the ceiling. Instead of proposing right then, Joe waited until the music calmed two minutes into the new year to make sure Lauren would be completely surprised. Using the classic rave ritual — the PLUR handshake (Peace, Love, Unity, Respect) — Joe slid a kandi bracelet across Lauren’s wrist that read: “Will you marry me?” Then, in the middle of the dance floor, he dropped to one knee, opened the glowing ring box, and asked her to spend forever with him. Shocked and overjoyed, Lauren fervently nodded yes. Joe slipped the ring on her finger, and just like that, their next chapter began — loud, unforgettable, and perfectly them.
