The Wedding Website of Lauren Carboni and Jet Carter

If you have the vacation time to take before or after the wedding, we highly recommend taking some time to experience the two very different 'sides' of Belize! See some of the recommended places we have provided in the links as well as the trip we took during our first visit to Belize. Day 1-3 Rented a Jeep & drove to San Ignacio, stayed at a bed and breakfast (tree houses!) along the Mopan River, in the small village of Bullet Tree Falls. Tubed down the river with the local dogs, visited Mountain Pine Ridge National Forrest (waterfalls!), and explored Xunantunich (ancient ruins). Day 3 Back to Belize City to take the ferry to Caye Caulker. Drank all the rum & enjoyed small island life. Day 4-5 Snorkeled with nurse sharks & sting rays (learned lesson about reapplying sunscreen!). Took the ferry to San Pedro, spent our last night at Victoria House resort, explored the town via golf cart. Took the smallest plane back to Belize City, wishing we had at least 2 more days : )

We went to Xunantunich with a 'guide' from the bed and breakfast, but felt we didn't need him. If you decide to visit Tikal, which is across the Guatemalan border, a tour group might be best. See link for many other great Mayan Ruins!
