How do you meet someone in the middle of a pandemic??? The same way you meet someone when there is not one...Bumble! Lauren and Jeff were swiping away on their phones until they swiped right on each other and were a match. Lauren had to be the first to reach out and she did so with a smooth "how was your weekend?". Jeff was hooked! They chatted back and forth for a bit and then Lauren got busy with work. Jeff was not deterred and he kept reaching out. Lauren agreed to meet up for a drink and suggested meeting somewhere in the middle because the two lived 50 minutes apart (pretty much all of RI). At the time Jeff expressed that his car battery was dying and invited Lauren to Bristol. This was suspicious to Lauren and she consulted with her Matron of Honor Holly who said "that is not a real adult problem." This translated to them that Jeff had no car in his possession, so Lauren replied "rain check". Well, Jeff did in fact have a car, and it did need a new battery, so he quickly got everything in order and tried again. This time offering to come to Lauren's neck of the woods. Lauren was tired from online dating and almost did not say yes. But she decided to go and they met up for dinner at Plum Point Bistro in North Kingstown. Since it was a pandemic they had to meet in a mask (so not helpful), but were able to sit outside for dinner. When Lauren arrived, Jeff was outside waiting and he got to witness Lauren hit the curb while pulling into the parking lot. Jeff did the right thing and did not mention that he saw her do this so she would not be embarrassed. Lauren had seafood pasta and Jeff ordered Sausage pasta. Little did Jeff know, sausage is one of Lauren's least favorite food. Good thing she can look past that! Their conversations at dinner were good and they both decided that they would enjoy seeing each other again. The rest is history.
