Hank and Lauren first met at a Christmas event at their church. They didn’t see each other again until a month later at a Bible study where they both sat at the same table to talk with a mutual friend (thanks Devon!). After that, they would see each other weekly at Bible study and would catch up and chat. Hank invited Lauren to play Top Golf one night with him and some friends. It ended up being just Lauren and Hank (maybe planned that way!) and they had a blast. They have been adventuring and getting to know one another ever since!

Hank and Lauren knew after months of dating that their relationship could lead to marriage. Lauren thought for sure that she would know when the proposal was coming. But February 22, 2019 was the most pleasantly, surprising day in Lauren’s life. The day started like any other Friday. After work, Lauren and Hank got together at a local coffee shop. Hank suggested a walk at Manassas Battlefield Park. As they were finishing the walk and heading to their car, Hank got down on one knee and asked Lauren to marry him. In a mixture of shock and happiness, Lauren threw her left glove on the ground and started to walk backwards. But Hank, the patient person he is, waited for the shock to settle and her to walk back to him and say yes. ☺
