We are trying to kind of keep the vibe of a Hawaiian beach wedding that we brought smack in the middle of Eastern North Carolina to smack in the middle of land-locked Colorado! Since the wedding already happened, we are loosely keeping that theme... so feel free to wear something Hawaiian inspired... but also feel free to wear whatever is comfortable (ie shorts and a t shirt are totally OK)! No need to buy anything special. Dress for the heat that will be likely... but also bring along a rain jacket and a light jacket!
We recommend bringing some cash for tips at the bar :)
There is plenty of parking at the venue but if you were planning on having a few drinks (I mean you might as well... open bar... well beer and wine that is!) we recommend taking an Uber or Lyft which are usually very easily accessible at this location.
We are anticipating that there may be a decent amount of leftover food. Please bring along tupperware if there are leftovers and if you will want to take anything home!! (Little update-- I will have some takeout containers there as well!) Bring you Aloha spirit and some cash for the bartender :)
Schedule: 4-5: "Cocktail" hour w appetizers 5: Short and sweet ceremony 5:30-7:30- Catered Brothers BBQ dinner (buffet style)- bbq chicken/beef brisket, salad, potato salad, mashed potatoes, mac&cheese 6ish- 930ish- Dancing, outdoor games, tiki torches, just hanging out- whatever you want!
There will be some cocktail hour appetizers and dinner will be catered by Brothers BBQ. There will be BBQ chicken/ beef brisket, potato salad, mac and cheese, and mashed potatoes... and if that is too many carbs, no worries, there will be a salad as well :) There will be beer, wine, and hard seltzer (only need money if you choose to tip the bartender which you definitely should!). There will also be soda, water, and lemonade and iced tea will be served with dinner. We will not be cutting a cake but we will have cupcakes!
This party is definitely open to your little ones, whether they have 2 legs or they are furry and have 4 legs! Some things to keep in mind... Please only bring your dog if they are well behaved... they must stay on a leash at all times... and if they are sensitive to the heat, you may want to consider leaving them home as while there may be shade/water, there will not be air conditioning available for them and it has the potential of being pretty toasty--- though looking like we might have some decent cloud cover, so yay!! As far as your children go... same rules... well behaved and on a leash :) Well just kidding about the leash part... :) This is a pretty fun place for kids with some outdoor playthings for them. However, they must be watched at all times.
update!!! Since the rafting season is winding down, the porta potties have gone on their final voyage, so there will be indoor toilets/sinks to use :)
Our great friends Brad and Lindsey Modesitt own an amazing whitewater rafting company called Mountain Whitewater where they take folks down the Poudre River! They have an outdoor pub called Paddler's Pub which is where we will be having our celebration! It is a pretty unique and fun place... check it out here: https://www.raftmw.com/paddlers-pub/ and here: https://www.facebook.com/PaddlersPubatMW/
