Shannon Airport

Shannon Airport is located 1.5 hours south of Galway. Direct flights to Shannon can be found out of major US cities like: New York (JFK), Boston (BOS), Chicago (ORD), and Philadelphia (PHL). For public transportation to Galway, we recommend the Bus Éireann 50/50X route (Cork - Limerick - Shannon Airport - Ennis - Galway and return) which will take you to the Eyre Square Bus Station in Galway. Buses are easily located just outside the arrivals terminal. Tickets cost approximately €13 for a single journey and €23 for a return journey ticket. Dublin Airport

Dublin airport is located 2.5 hours east of Galway. Several major U.S. cities offer direct flights to Dublin International Airport. These cities include: New York (JFK), Newark (EWR), Boston (BOS), Chicago (ORD), Washington, D.C. (IAD), Philadelphia (PHL), Los Angeles (LAX), San Francisco (SFO), Seattle (SEA), Denver (DEN), Orlando (MCO). In Dublin, international flights arrive and depart from Terminal 2 (T2). Guests can rent a car directly from the airport and take the M4 to the M6 motorway all the way to Galway City. Ireland also has a great public transportation system. The Citylink/EireEagle (Route 760/761/720/720X) and GoBus (Route 720) coach buses are located immediately upon exiting the terminal, in Zone 11. Buses typically leave the terminal every hour: a quarter past for Citylink, and a quarter to for GoBus. Both buses make a quick pitstop in Dublin City Center before continuing on to Galway Coach Station, located a few block down from Eyre Square ('X' buses travel directly to end locations without pitstops). Fares are approximately €20 single-ticket and €30 roundtrip, but are usually a couple Euros cheaper when purchased ahead of time online from the bus website. Tickets can also be purchased directly from the bus driver. Galway Bay Hotel

This is where we will be having our wedding ceremony and reception. Please be sure to make your reservation in advance as this is a popular hotel. The hotel is 10-15 minutes from downtown Galway. We highly recommend either booking the Galway Bay Hotel or looking for a hotel that is in Salthill, Galway or Galway City. If looking at Airbnbs, make sure they are within a 20 minute drive from the Galway Bay Hotel, if they are further taxis may not go that far. ***If you plan to arrive on Thursday, please note the Galway Bay Hotel has a buyout for a conference on that day so you will need to book a different hotel (plenty of options to choose from).
