Situated in the middle of the city and directly in front of La Parroquia de San Miguel Arcangel, El Jardin is the town square. Spend time here people watching, listening to wandering mariachis and getting your bearings before exploring the streets that lead away in all directions.
Trinitate is a pottery store in the heart of San Miguel de Allende with a beautiful terrace. Needless to say, Lauren walked into this shop and fell in love. Located in an old building dating from the seventeenth century, this place was part of the Parroquia de San Miguel de Arcangel, which today has become a representative icon of this magical city. Fun fact - you will be eating off of their plates at the reception!
This cooking class came very highly recommended by everyone I spoke with that has visited San Miguel! Marilau has been teaching this class every single day since 1984 (with the exception of Sundays). She originally made and sold her own elotes but everyone wanted the recipe so she decided to teach! Marilau is now working on building an event space just outside of the city to rent and provide more space for cooking classes.
When visiting San Miguel, there’s not a more unique and memorable experience than a private tour of La Dragones. In the heart of San Miguel de Allende, it is surrounded by the city’s finest restaurants and art galleries. When visiting the house, you will also learn about the innovative process and handcrafted techniques that result in uniquely smooth sipping tequilas. Fun fact - Both Martha Stewart and Oprah have named it their favorite tequilas!
One of best bars in the city with an outstanding view of the Parroquia. Come here before sunset for drinks and enjoy watching them ring the bells, followed by lighting up the church. Upscale food and hip venue offering an eclectic international menu & DJs in a chic space that has city views. Reservations are HIGHLY encouraged.
THE RESTAURANT is housed in one of San Miguel’s most elegantly colonial settings at Sollano 16. Offering a full bar, it serves lunch and dinner six days a week in a sun-dappled eighteenth century Moroccan courtyard, as well as in their elegant dining salon. On Thursdays, they do special burgers that are supposed to be the BEST in town! They also have a DJ that comes in later that night and a cool speakeasy type bar attached to the courtyard! Definitely one of our favorite places to eat. Reservations are highly encouraged.
The most breathtaking rooftop experience in San Miguel de Allende, Luna features unobstructed views of the city’s majestic skyline, as well as a menu of inventive cocktails and Mediterranean-inspired tapas. Luna invites guests to take in the magical colors and ever-changing light of the city below while enjoying an abundant spread of shareable dishes and artisanal drinks. There is no better spot to watch the sunset and take in the fading lights across the city’s palette of burnt sienna, earthy pink, and warm yellow hues. Day or night, Luna provides the prime destination to enjoy sweeping views of the city’s iconic Parroquia de San Miguel Arcángel, bell towers, rolling hills, and beyond. Reservations are HIGHLY encouraged.
Cumpanio is the rebirth of the legacy that was brought to Mexico by a French-Italian family. The space merges perfectly with the 17th century buildings found in San Miguel de Allende. Serving more than 120 different dishes that will delight those who like to share bread with us. Fun fact - Some of our engagement photos were taken here!
