Here are the answers to some questions we have gotten but if you think of anything else, let us know! We are happy to help!
Question

Do I need a passport?

Answer

Yes! Please make sure your passport is up to date and ready! With delays in the US Department of State you will want to renew ASAP. Most airlines will not allow you to fly if it expires within 6 months.

Question

Is San Miguel de Allende safe?

Answer

Yes! We have loved our time in San Miguel and never once felt unsafe. Locals, including the ex-pat Americans who live there permanently are very friendly and welcoming to tourists. But of course in any situation, we would ask that you use common sense as always when you are traveling, whether in the US or internationally.

Question

Can I bring my kids?

Answer

To allow all guests the ability to relax and really let loose, we have chosen to make our special weekend adults only. We hope you will understand our decision and take the opportunity to let your hair down, kick up your heels and celebrate in style!

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

ASAP! As soon as you know you will be in attendance, we would love for you to let us know! There are a lot of logistics that go into a destination wedding and we want to make sure everything is perfect for you and our wedding weekend.

Question

Can I bring a date/+1?

Answer

We are only able to accommodate those guests formally invited on your wedding invitation. If you received a plus one, they will appear under your name when you RSVP.

Question

What is the elevation of San Miguel?

Answer

SMA sits just over 6,000 ft above sea level. Due to its moderately high altitude and dry climate you will want to ensure that you hydrate accordingly. Bring on the LiquidIV and drink a lot of (filtered) water in the days leading up to the wedding so you can leave it all on the dance floor!

Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

March in SMA brings beautifully warm days (mid/high 70's with low humidity) and chilly nights with temperatures dropping into the 50's. Since the town is nestled in the Sierra Central mountains, expect warm days and cool nights. There is not a beach in this colonial town but there are pools as well as breathtaking Cenotes and Hot Springs just outside of the city so pack a swimsuit!

Question

What shoes should I pack?

Answer

San Miguel de Allende has cobblestone streets which can be difficult to walk in heels. Comfortable shoes, block heels, or low heels are recommended!

Question

How do I book transportation from the airport?

Answer

We use Viajes San Miguel for our transport and they are wonderful. Go to their website and fill in your flight number, arrival time, and destination address to book. They do not require payment up front, you can pay once you arrive in San Miguel. This is the website to book. https://viajessanmiguel.com/
