European Union Travel Authorization

Note: latest reports from EU share that this will not go into effect until Q4 2026 (October) and shouldn't impact travel for the dates of our wedding. Starting in late 2026 all U.S. citizens will need ETIAS (European Travel Information and Authorization System) authorization before entering most EU countries (including Germany). Most applicants will receive their ETIAS travel authorization within minutes, but in some cases the process may take up to 30 days. This is why you should apply well in advance of your travel to avoid complications. ETIAS is not projected to be live until Q4 2026, but we will monitor and update you here if this changes.

Train

Bayerische Regiobahn

From Munich Airport (MUC), take the S8 train to Munich Central Station (Hauptbahnhof). The journey takes about 40–45 minutes. At Munich Central Station, transfer to the Bayerische Regiobahn (BRB) train heading to Tegernsee. This scenic ride takes around one hour and brings you directly to the Tegernsee train station, just a few minutes from most hotels and the lakeside. Total travel time: approximately 1 hour 45 minutes. Taxis and local buses are available at Tegernsee station for the final short transfer to your accommodation. Tickets can be purchased directly at the airport or at the main station at the platform ticket office.

Welcome to the Caro & Selig on the Tegernsee! From having a spritz on the panoramic rooftop terrace, to being a quick stroll into town, everyone can find something to love at the Caro & Selig. This hotel is a Marriott Bonvoy Partner Hotel & will also be the primary pick up and drop off point for the shuttle taking guests from town up to the villa where the wedding events will take place. The Caro & Selig does not allow room blocks so please book whenever you are able to! We encourage our guests to book here for ease of access to the shuttle (ubers and taxi's are hard to come by), if you decide to stay elsewhere it is absolutely not a problem -- just please let us know so we can ensure you have proper transportation!
