Things To Do

Outdoor/Rooftops: > Recess > The Kennedy > Cabana Club @ Cafe Robey Breweries: > Forbidden Root > Lagunitas Dive Bars: > Birds Nest > Will's Parks: > Maggie Daley Park > Lincoln Park Zoo

Recess

838 West Kinzie Street, Chicago, IL 60642
, (312) 801-1181

One of our more recent finds in Fulton Market. Recess is a trendy "shipping container" outdoor bar with fantastic drinks, great food and fun vibes

Kennedy Rooftop

1551 West North Avenue, Chicago, IL 60622
, (773) 270-6770

Our Wicker Park go-to for out of town guests - featuring one of the best views of the Chicago skyline, delicious drinks and yummy french fries

Cafe Robey

1600 North Milwaukee Avenue, Chicago, IL 60647
, (872) 315-3084

The 6th floor Cabana Club was our first favorite rooftop where you can dip your feet in a small pool, sip on a frozen drink and take in the city skyline.

Forbidden Root Restaurant & Brewery

1746 West Chicago Avenue, Chicago, IL 60622
, (312) 929-2202

One of our favorites for date night. Lauren's goes for the seafood and Brian's favorite dish is the Duck Confit. The rotating beers are great too!

Lagunitas Brewing Company Chicago

2607 West 17th Street, Chicago, IL 60608
, (773) 522-1308

If you've never experienced the Lagunitas Willy Wonka tunnel entrance, this is a must-do. Then when you make it up to the tasting room, you'll be rewarded with some of Chicago's best beer.

Bird's Nest

2500 North Southport Avenue, Chicago, IL 60614
, (773) 472-1502

This dive Sport's bar serves up Brian's favorite wings in the city.. and Lauren pretty much loves every other item on their menu. Make sure to get the seasoned curly fries with any order!

Will's Northwoods Inn

3030 North Racine Avenue, Chicago, IL 60657
, (773) 528-4400

After searching for the best cheese curds in the city, we both agree that Will's comes in at the top of the list. This Wisconsin themed bar has great drinks/food, free darts and popcorn and a great outdoor beer garden! What more can you ask for?

Maggie Daley Park

337 East Randolph Street, Chicago, IL 60601
, (312) 552-3000

This place is special since it's where we got engaged (just outside of the ice skating ribbon). Located a block East of Millennium Park, it's an easy stop over if you're planning on walking around downtown.

Lincoln Park Zoo

2001 North Clark Street, Chicago, IL 60614
, (312) 742-2000

Although this zoo is free, it does not disappoint! Great place to walk around, see some cute animals, then cross over the bridge to take in the city skyline while walking along the lake.

For all the days along the way
