Although we started noticing each other in the hallways at work sometime around March of 2014, we didn't formally introduce ourselves to each other until the end of that July. We both signed up for a work fieldtrip to tour the Chicago Tribune building (we worked in newspaper advertising at the time), where we made stupid jokes and flirted a little. The fun and flirting continued at a work happy hour later that day, and needless to say, we hit it off! Fast forward 7 years and a couple of (separate) jobs later, and we're getting married!

On February 22, we went to Maggie Daly park to meet up with Brian's cousin and skate a few laps on the ice ribbon. It was a warm, sunny winter day that turned in to an even better day/night. As we were starting to make our way back home, Brian got down on one knee and proposed. Luckily we had amazing photographers to capture the moment (thanks, Kyle & Anastasia) with the gorgeous Chicago skyline in the background! Brian mentioned our parents were waiting at our Wicker Park apartment to celebrate with us, but to Lauren's surprise, a big group of family and friends were also there to celebrate! It was an overall amazing and overwhelming day. We frequently talk about not only how lucky we are to have such amazing people to celebrate with, but that we got to do it right before the world shut down!

As many of you know, we were originally planning on getting married in October 2020, then postponed until May 2021. Since our top priority for our wedding (other than each other, of course) is to be surrounded by all of our loved ones while keeping everyone safe, we decided to postpone one *fingers crossed* last time! Although restrictions are lifting and the world is getting back to normal (whatever that means), we completely understand that everyone has different comfort levels. As the wedding day gets closer, we'll do our best to keep everyone updated on any restrictions and/or requirements that may be in place this Fall. We really appreciate everyone's love and support during this interesting time - can't wait to finally celebrate all together on 10.3.21!
