Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Please let us know your plans as soon as possible. :) We'll need a final headcount for the venue by October 15, 2019 and The Westin will hold rooms in our room block until October 25, 2019.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

It's a beach wedding, but we would love for everyone to dress up a bit, so please wear your favorite Beach Cocktail Attire!

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Yes! We love all of your children, and would be delighted to have them join in on the festivities! The resort is a family-friendly resort, so the more the merrier! Please be aware that the wedding venue is only accessible to/from via boat so it will be a long day for the kiddos, but we are happy to have them!

Question

Tell me about Las Caletas where the wedding will be held!

Answer

Las Caletas is, pure and simple, a paradise hideaway and Mexico’s own Garden of Eden. Rich in tropical wildlife and filled with scenic vistas to spare, it is a beach unlike any other. The natural beauty of Las Caletas was originally discovered by the famous film director John Huston, who made it his private home for many years. Accessible only by sea, Las Caletas is a private beach surrounded by a steep, jungle-clad mountain backdrop, making it a truly secluded tropical sanctuary. When we found this island and learned it was an option for a wedding, we knew it was the perfect place for us!

Question

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

Please email us at kvalstadrusso@gmail.com to let us know! We want you to be safe and comfortable in your dining experiences.

Question

Where is the Welcome Party?

Answer

We will update the information on this wedding website as soon as we have an accurate RSVP count. Check back soon!

Question

What is the timeline for the Wedding Day?

Answer

4:oo pm: Meet at Marina Vallarta!! This is the most important step. You miss this boat you miss the wedding. Open bar in the boat. (Lets get the party started!) 5:30 pm: Arrive at Las Caletas 6:00 pm: Ceremony Starts 6:20 pm: Cocktail time 7:00 pm: Dinner 8:30 pm: Dance and a few extra surprises! :) 11:30 pm: Depart Las Caletas 12:30 pm: Arrive at the Marina

Question

Do we need to pay for the catamaran to get to the venue?

Answer

Nope! :) Your transportation to and from the venue has been taken care of.

Question

Can we leave the venue prior to the reception being over?

Answer

Unfortunately, no. Once you arrive at the venue you must stay there for the duration of the ceremony & reception. The catamaran will pick up all guests at 10:30 pm and transport them back to the mainland where the boat departed from. If it is an emergency, on-site staff at the wedding can take you via speed boat to the Maritime Terminal and there is a hospital across the street.

Question

Do you have a wedding hashtag?

Answer

Yes, we do! For all of you instagram lovers out there, use the #swipedright2betherussos when posting pictures before and after the wedding to share with us and other guests from the wedding your adventures, experiences and fun you had during this special time. **Please wait to post any photos of the bride & groom until after they have posted an announcement first.

Question

What's the conversion rate of pesos ($MXN) to dollars ($US)?

Answer

19 pesos = 1 dollar, so an easy peasy way to figure out the conversion is to divide the pesos by 20. Ex: $160 MXN divided by 20 = $8 dollars

Question

Is it possible to buy a day pass for a hotel's pool?

Answer

Yup! Here's the link to the most popular hotels in Puerto Vallarta: https://issuu.com/vallartatribune/docs/daypass If you choose to stay at another hotel/AirBnB you can purchase a day pass for The Westin for about $17 for adults and $8.75 kids, and it includes access to the swimming pools in the Beach Club area, towels, $10 food credit for adults and $3.75 food credit for kids.

Question

How do we get around in Puerto Vallarta?

Answer

*Bus: there are plenty of stops and the fares are cheap *Uber *Taxis/Cabs: cheap and easy to use way to get around the city – you just need some street smarts. Fares are charged by zone, not meter, so ask the driver for a rate sheet to keep track and consult it before starting your ride. The minimum fare is usually around 40 to 70 pesos ($2.10 to $3.70) around town, but rides from the airport to most hotels will likely start around the equivalent of $10. *Rental Car: Rental cars offer easy access to all of the main attractions throughout Puerto Vallarta, but rates can be expensive and driving through the city's steep, bumpy streets can be more trouble than it's worth. If you're going to rent a car, book online before your arrival. And remember to always lock your valuables in the trunk out of plain sight. Mexico recognizes U.S. driver's licenses, so travelers won't need an international driving permit unless they plan on driving more than 300 miles into Mexico during their stay.

Question

How do I contact you if I have a question about the wedding or travel/hotel accommodations?

Answer

Up until a few days before the wedding feel free to contact us at kvalstadrusso@gmail.com if you have any questions about the wedding, planning travel, or accomodations and we (most likely Lauren!) will respond back to you as soon as we can. Or feel free to call/text us if you have our cell phone numbers. (We don't feel comfortable posting our digits online. Too many spammers out there!) On the day of the wedding, a member of the wedding party will be the Point of Contact person.

For all the days along the way
