In February 2023, we met on a dating app, and we connected right from the start! Although our story started in Virginia, we discovered we both grew up in the same county in Maryland! On Sunday, May 26th 2024, we started off having one of our usual date nights. We went to one of our favorite places for dinner, Garnett’s Cafe in Richmond. Afterwards, we went to Libby Hill Park, which overlooks downtown Richmond and the James River. Vince suggested we go sit on a private bench. We talked for a few minutes, and then Vince handed Laura his phone to play a video that he had made for her. In the video, Vince was standing in front of different places that were meaningful to us, and at the end, he was standing at the bench where Laura was sitting at that moment. When the video ended, Vince got down on one knee and asked her to marry him! It was a beautiful moment that we’ll both cherish forever.
