After connecting online through Hinge, we had our first date at 7 Corners Coffee. Even though we were nervous, conversation flowed easily. We shared silly stories about ourselves, realizing we had almost crossed paths a few times in the past. We lost track of time talking to each other and before we knew it, we were being kindly nudged to leave the closed coffee shop. During our Minnesota Goodbye near the car, we agreed we wanted to go out again. Our second date was at Silverwood Park where we are now getting married.
Sully was very sneaky and successfully convinced Laura that having a picnic at our favorite park, Boom Island, was a last minute idea. After a nice picnic dinner overlooking the river, Sully said he had one more treat. As Laura rambled on about cookies, Sully turned around on his knee with the ring. Laura looked so surprised that Sully froze too. We stared at each other for a moment, then he asked Laura, "will you marry me?" Laura answered with a breathless, happy “yes!” We stayed at the park celebrating and calling family until it was too dark for video calls. Sully’s brother Sev had our favorite reaction, he told us about his Smash Bros. tournament win rather than congratulating us right away.
