Our story it's a little unusual, we didn't meet like most couples: through a job, friends, or family; We like to think we met through destiny. We were 6.116 miles apart when He first said "hello" to me; and from that moment on, our gratest adventure began. I needed to learn english because I had to become an Au Pair in the United States and He needed to learn some italian because he had a ticket booked for Italy; we both decided to download an app called "hello talk" and that's where that first "hello" started everything. I learned english pretty good, I might say; He..... he is still working on his italian😜; but we definetly learned how to care and love eachother. A couple of months later, in June, he finally arrived all the way from Los Angeles to my little unknown italian town and, on june 18th 2018, in a ferry navigating through Venice's canals, He asked me to be his girlfriend. La nostra storia è un po 'insolita, non ci siamo incontrati come la maggior parte delle coppie: per lavoro, amici o famiglia; Ci piace pensare che il destino ci ha fatto conoscere. Eravamo a 9.843km di distanza quando mi disse per la prima volta "ciao" e da quel momento è iniziata la nostra più grande avventura. Io avevo bisogno di imparare l'inglese perché dovevo diventare un Au Pair negli Stati Uniti e lui aveva bisogno di imparare l'italiano perché aveva un biglietto prenotato per l'Italia; entrambi abbiamo deciso di scaricare un'app chiamata "hello talk" ed è lì che il primo "hello" ha dato inizio a tutto. Io ho imparato l'inglese abbastanza bene, potrei dire; Lui....... lui sta ancora lavorando il suo italiano😜; ma abbiamo sicuramente imparato come amarci e prenderci cura l'un l'altro. Un paio di mesi dopo, a giugno, è finalmente arrivato da Los Angeles nella mia piccola sconosciuta cittadina italiana e, il 18 giugno 2018, su un traghetto che navigava tra i canali di Venezia, mi ha chiesto di essere la sua ragazza.

It was a random saturday, we were together in our apartament in Bakersfield. We had Malerie (Paul's niece) with us for the weekend. He tricked both of us saying he was going to have a busy afternoon so I made plans to take her to the movies. We saw "angry birds" and we enjoyed it so much eating popcorn and milkshake. At the end of the movie he came to pick us up and we got home. He made Malerie get off and they closed me in the car because he wasn't done setting up everything... so confused I just started watching "the vampire diaries" on my phone till they came up to my rescue. He blindfolded me and guided me all the way into our apartament where he prepared the most gorgeous and romantic set up, with roses, baloons and stuffed animals and once down on his knee he asked me to marry him. With tears, joy and surprise I said YES so we are here now, 2 years later, after a pandemic, restrictions and borders closed, we finally get to call each other husband and wife. Era un sabato casuale, eravamo insieme nel nostro appartamento a Bakersfield. Malerie (la nipote di Paul) era con noi per il fine settimana. Lui ci ha ingannate entrambe dicendo che avrebbe avuto un pomeriggio impegnativo, quindi io e Mal abbiamo deciso di andare al cinema. Abbiamo visto "angry birds" e ci siamo divertite mangiando popcorn e frappè. Tornati a casa, Lui ha fatto scendere Malerie ed entrambi mi hanno chiuso in macchina (perche' non aveva finito di sistemare); così confusa, ho iniziato a guardare "The Vampire Diaries" sul mio telefono fino a quando sono venuti a recuperarmi. Lui mi ha bendato e guidato fino al nostro appartamento dove ha preparato l'allestimento più bello e romantico che ogni ragazza possa sognare con rose, palloncini e peluche e una volta inginocchiato mi ha chiesto di sposarlo. Con lacrime, gioia e sorpresa ho detto SI!! Ed e' cosi' che siamo qui ora, 2 anni dopo, affrontata una pandemia, restrizioni e confini chiusi, finalmente potendoci chiamare marito e moglie.
