Things To Do

These are some of the restaurants we went to when Mal would visit and some classic Charleston things to see!
Historic Charleston City Market

Historic Charleston City Market

188 Meeting Street, Charleston, SC 29401
, (843) 937-0920

Take a stroll through on the way from the wedding to the reception. It's the #1 most visited attraction in Charleston.

Virginia's On King

Virginia's On King

412 King Street, Charleston, SC 29403
, (843) 735-5800

Some of the best traditional southern food! Laura gets the chicken and waffles, Mal got the country Benedict. And definitely try the she crab soup!

Magnolia Plantation and Gardens

Magnolia Plantation and Gardens

3550 Ashley River Road, Charleston, SC 29414
, (843) 571-1266

This is where Mal proposed! Can you find the gazebo where he popped the question?

Fleet Landing Restaurant & Bar

Fleet Landing Restaurant & Bar

186 Concord Street, Charleston, SC 29401
, (843) 722-8100

Fun spot overlooking the water and there isn't a bad seat in the restaurant! Definitely a place to get she crab soup. Highly recommend reservations!

Old South Carriage Company

Old South Carriage Company

14 Anson Street, Charleston, SC 29401
, (843) 723-9712

Get a group together and tour the Holy City!

Holey City Bagels

Holey City Bagels

43 Cannon Street, Charleston, SC 29403

They're not NY bagels but they're the closest you can get in Charleston! Depending on where you're from the following may be pros or cons: 1) the owners are from Jersey 2) they're NY sports fans 3) they have pork roll.

Joe Riley Waterfront Park

Joe Riley Waterfront Park

Concord Street, Charleston, SC 29401

This was one of the first things Mal and Laura saw when she moved to Charleston. A cute park right on the Charleston Harbor with the famous Pineapple Fountain.

Oak Steakhouse

Oak Steakhouse

17 Broad Street, Charleston, SC 29401
, (843) 722-4220

Celebrate like Laura and Mal! Originally, for Laura's birthday, this is where they went to dinner the night they got engaged. Make sure to make a reservation!

Philadelphia Alley

Philadelphia Alley

Philadelphia Alley, Charleston, SC 29401

A picturesque alley tucked away between Queen St. and Cumberland St. Ask any Charleston tour guide and they'll tell you it was the location of many duels back in the 1800s. If you're walking to the reception from the Cathedral, its a short detour off of State St. Turn left onto Queen St. and the alley is half a block down. Exit, turn right onto Cumberland St. and before you know it you'll be back at State St.

Charleston Crab House

Charleston Crab House

41 South Market Street, Charleston, SC 29401
, (843) 853-2900

Known for their steam pots, this place has all the seafood you'd want. Sit out on the rooftop patio to get a view of the Charleston Market. Definitely get a reservation if you can. (If we're being honest, skip the she crab soup)

The Wreck of Richard & Charlene

The Wreck of Richard & Charlene

106 Haddrell Street, Mount Pleasant, SC 29464
, (843) 884-0052

A fun, casual, seafood restaurant with paper on the tables and two cooking options: fried or grilled. Would fit right in at the Jersey Shore. Get a drink at their bar on the patio while you wait for you table and don't forget the she crab soup!
