Laura and Luis met at the public library. Yes, the public library. Laura had a research appointment at the Vasari Project, an archive documenting Miami's art history from 1945 to the present. She was told an archivist would meet her and assist with the necessary materials. Obviously, she expected the archivist to be an older gentleman. But, he wasn't. It was Luis, in his full man-bun glory. Laura walked through the door into the research room, where very little to no research was done. Instead, Laura and Luis just talked and talked, and though they weren't finished, before they knew it, it was closing time. Laura went back to the archive a few times under the guise of "follow-up research," but it took Luis a bit of time to work up the courage to ask her out. Just as Laura was convincing herself that Luis was not that into her, he took the plunge, cut his beautiful mane to a respectable length, and invited her to lunch. She was startled (and slightly disappointed) by his change of appearance, but happy that he had finally come to his senses. Unfortunately, she had to decline his spontaneous offer because, of course, she already had plans. However, the door was left open for an enticing evening rendezvous the following Saturday. The night of their first date, they ended up dancing at Mama Tried. Even though Luis's moves left a lot to be desired, it was enough, with them sealing the evening with their first kiss, and never looking back.
