In early fall of 2022, our love story began to unfold on the digital landscape of Hinge. It was September when fate, in the form of swipes and messages, brought us together. The anticipation grew as the days passed. Soon October 1st arrived. Our first face-to-face encounter took place at Tucked Away Brewing, a charming setting that mirrored our excitement. Three hours felt like mere minutes as we shared stories, laughter, and, perhaps, a hint of nervousness. By the end of that evening we both knew that this connection deserved a chance. The very next day under the warm October sun, we ventured to Sunshine Ridge Winery. As we sipped on a delightful wine flight and savored a beautifully arranged charcuterie board, our hearts felt lighter, and our smiles grew wider. It was there, amidst the vineyards and the laughter, that we solidified our interest in seeing each other again. These early moments together were just the beginning of a journey filled with love, adventure, more wineries, and to Kenny’s fancy, a NASCAR race. :)

As the sun began its slow descent behind the mountains near Eastwood Winery outside Charlottesville, Virginia, a warm golden hue covered the vineyards. This is where our love story reached a pivotal moment. It was September 15, 2023, a date we will forever hold close to our hearts. We had planned a romantic getaway for what Laura thought was her birthday weekend. As we strolled to the top of the mountain to get a glimpse of the views, hand in hand, there was anticipation in the air. As we reached a secluded spot on the mountainside overlooking the valley below, Kenny turned to Laura and dropped to one knee. With a heart full of love and a diamond in his pocket, he proposed. The world seemed to stand still as we embraced, knowing that from this day forward our love story would continue to unfold with even more adventures, laughter, and moments like this—on mountaintops, under sunsets, or in each other's arms.
