Wedding Party

Tara Kerwin

Maid of Honor

Well, our moms decided that we should be friends before we even met, that was 2003. Fast Forward to 2005 and our real story begins when we both went on the AP Euro Trip with our class... to be honest I’m not even sure how much we hung out on the trip, but I always think of it as the start of our friendship. 15 years, and many laughs, cries, phone calls, letters, trips, later we have been with each other through it all and I’m so excited to have you stand by my side!

Mary Jo Waller

Bridesmaid

One of two cousins in the wedding party, Mary Jo (MJ, Jojo, take your pick), has been by my side since her day one and my day 600ish?? Never having a sister myself, MJ was my go to girl when our brothers would pester us or for a whole lot of other situations. There is never a dull moment when your friends with Mary Jo, from playing pretend to jet ski rides and other cottage shenanigans to tailgates and breweries and weddings. Love you lady and am so happy to have you in the wedding!

Claire Baumgartner

Bridesmaid

When Claire and I were about 13 and 9 (give or take) we created a circus act starring the amazing Clairance. And even though our act didn’t last, she’s been a steadfast friend (and cousin!) all these years, and is amazing in my book. We spend much of our time together trying to get her sister to move home (#reasonstoliveinIL), among other shenanigans related to our wine nights. Love you! I am so glad to have you standing by my side!

Catherine Sloan

Bridesmaid

I am lucky enough to have Catherine in my family, thanks Scott! One of the first times I met Catherine, my brother Kevin challenged her that she couldn’t remember everyone’s name at a larger family gathering. So naturally, she proved Kevin wrong as quickly as possible. I knew then that this girl was for real, and her competitive spirit a natural fit in our family. I am so glad I can call her my sister! She is loyal, generous and quick witted (unless you ask her 2 year old, Molly), and of course a fabulous bridesmaid!

Megan McNiven

Bridesmaid

I met Megan because our moms have a mutual friend (hey there, Miss Al!), but we’ve stayed friends (and roommates) because this lady is one amazing human. She has the biggest and most generous heart, and let John move in with us, which some may say is a recipe for disaster... it was anything, but that. John and Megan are great friends, they share an enthusiasm for giving our apartment a nickname, Stan’s Donuts, and for sharing about their work day before I get home. I’m pretty sure, Megan knows more about John’s job than I do! Needless to say we are both thrilled she is standing up in our wedding!

Matthew Olson

Best Man

As kids, when asked if we knew what the other was thinking, the other would respond, “they’re thinking that is a stupid question.” As adults, I’m glad he wouldn’t say the same about asking Laura to marry me. There isn’t anyone else I’d have standing up next to me at my wedding.

Sam Kincaid

Groomsman

Sam and I first met freshman year of college, and even after a year of being roommates, have stayed good friends. Being friends with Sam does not require a lot of conversation, which works well for both of us, but you will find us debating sports, especially any college football or Creighton basketball game.

Keith Ross

Groomsman

Keith is by far my favorite cousin. No matter that he is my only cousin, he is still my favorite. I can always count on him to give Matthew a hard time and, since it’s likely it’s been longer since his last haircut, make me look good.

Kevin Sloan

Groomsman

I knew Kevin was cool from the moment he told me his favorite tv show.... Psych, obviously! He lives in Maine, which was a great trip for Laura and I when we went to visit him. He is also teaching me how to tease Laura AND get away with it. I’ll get back to you on how that goes.

Scott Sloan

Groomsman

When I first met Scott, he booed every time my name came up or when I walked into a room. Once in awhile, he brings this back, probably because I keep laughing at it. Although, I’m hoping he’ll refrain from this at the church on Oct 30th.
