John and Laura first met in 2010 at Saint Louis University, but would not start dating until July 2013. For many years their relationship was long distance as John helped his family in Omaha, and he eventually moved to Chicago in 2018. Together they enjoy traveling, spending time with family, watching football (Vikings/Nebraska/ND for John and Bears for Laura), especially while enjoying nachos at a favorite watering hole. In July 2020, John was determined to reschedule their trip to Hilton Head (damn you, Covid!) for a trip to Vermont, just 3 days ahead of time. Little did Laura know, John had big plans for their trip. One night while at the lake side resort, Laura waited by the lake for John, thinking he was grabbing a game, but instead he came back with a ring and got down on one knee. Spoiler, she said Yes!!!!
