Our Story
HOW WE MET
Laura was living in New Orleans with her college roommate Payton attending Tulane University while Jesse-Wayne was living in College Station attending Texas A&M University. Laura's roommate and good friend Payton was a childhood friend of Jesse-Wayne's and encouraged him to come visit New Orleans. Jesse-Wayne eventually made the trip in January of 2021 and quickly became much more interested in the girl named Laura living in New Orleans than the city itself. Just a brief 3-day visit started a long distance exchange of messages and calls. Laura then came to Carthage, TX (Jesse-Wayne's hometown) for the summer of 2021 to learn from her friend Payton's father, a Veterinarian. Thus the real-life romantic comedy movie of a big city girl going to a small country town began, and of course (even after 5 years of long distance dating) the movie always has to end with a happy ever after!
The Proposal! In Chautauqua Park in Boulder, CO on 07/06/25. Notice how Jesse-Wayne must really love Laura since he is getting absolutely blinded by the sun to make sure the photo was perfect!
The first wedding we attended as a couple back in 2021! Hunter and Kimberlyn we love you!
Visits to College Station! Lots of back and forth driving over the years for both of us.
First Dating Anniversary. Took Jesse-Wayne to Fogo de Chao since he had never been there before, and we spent 4 hours there while Jesse-Wayne ate himself sick.
Tulane Graduation. It was blazing hot that day and Jesse-Wayne and his family were still so kind as to come out to show their support.
Visits to New Orleans (French Quarter Fest). Just ask Jesse-Wayne how many miles he put on his truck driving to and from New Orleans over the years.
Forever a house divided. And no, Laura will not let him decorate their house with Aggie memorabilia.
You know it's true love that will last when you've successfully replaced an alternator together in a tiny Volkswagen.
The one picture in 2022 in Colorado (one of our favorite places) where we accidentally tricked people into thinking we got engaged. Sorry!
Vet School graduation! Jesse-Wayne and his family were so sweet to travel and be there!

Laura made Jesse-Wayne take a picture with this sign 1 day before he proposed. She had no idea it was coming because he had just bought a truck.
