On July 23rd, 2015 a little-known band called California Wives played at Lincoln Hall in Chicago. Jamie was invited to the show by a friend, and was smitten with one of the other concert goers that night - Laura. Despite singing a poor-rendition of Remix to Ignition at karaoke after the show, Jamie managed to land a first date (Tango Sur) and soon enough he was invited to Laura’s kickball team which unofficially crowned the start of their courtship. Jamie soon realized his plan of “a few years in Chicago” was starting to look like a lifetime in the Second City. After many travels, nightly episodes of Jeopardy, concerts, and kickball seasons - Laura and Jamie moved in together to make Chicago their home. A trip to Portugal set the scene for Jamie to propose to Laura, and officially seal his title of cat step-father to Laura’s cat, Claude. We can’t wait for this new chapter to begin and celebrate our special day with you!
