please make sure your passport is valid or allow ample time to renew or apply for one. your passport must be valid for at least 3 months beyond your return date or you will not be able to fly to italy. you can book flights without a passport, but you will need a valid passport at check-in. if you plan to attend, we recommend booking flights early, as prices typically increase closer to the date.
Flight
we recommend flying into palermo falcone–borsellino airport (pmo), which is the closest airport to the city and wedding events. most travelers will connect through rome fiumicino airport (fco) or milan malpensa airport (mxp). quick tip: when searching for flights, be sure your final destination is palermo (pmo). searching “sicily” may default to other cities on the island. rome and milan are also great options if you’d like to spend a few days exploring before the wedding. there are multiple daily flights from both cities to palermo, with an average flight time of about one hour.

to make getting to and from palermo as easy as possible, we recommend using airport taxis or pre-booked private transfers from palermo falcone–borsellino airport (pmo). many hotels and airbnbs can also arrange transportation for a fee—just ask your hotel concierge or host when booking. if you have any trouble arranging transportation or have questions about getting around palermo, please don’t hesitate to reach out. we’re more than happy to help!

we do not recommend renting a car while in palermo. the city’s narrow streets, limited parking, and restricted traffic zones (ztl) can make driving challenging. most areas of the historic center are easily walkable, and taxis or private transfers are readily available when needed. please pack comfortable shoes, as many streets are cobblestone.
