Jack showed up to Laura's 16th birthday party in Ellamore, WV with some friends. That was the very first time their eyes ever met. They remained friends for a number of years, spending countless hours exploring the world around them, visiting places of nature such as Seneca Rocks, Pringle Tree, Sago, Stone Coal Lake, Blackwater Falls and Audra State Park. Star gazing from atop Jack's parent's house, multiple gas well roads and Penny Rock night after night, telling stories from their childhood and dreaming of what the future may hold was a favorite past-time.
Jack and Laura continued their communication with one another despite the large amount of miles between them when they both moved out of WV. While Jack headed to the city in Ohio, Laura moved to the woods of New Jersey. Things started off with telephone calls and really expensive cellular calls. (Roaming charges). They later began using digital mail through aol and yahoo. Social Media gave them a whole new means of exchanging life's happenings. Internet sites such as Myspace, Skype and Facebook kept them even closer than before.
Randomly crossing paths with each other in a Wal-Mart is what sparked the next chain of events. (Should have been K-Mart) LOL But go figure. It was in the middle of the Electronics Department when Laura told Jack about seeing their names carved in the wood at Pringle Tree earlier that month. It remained nearly 20 years on the pavilion post. That moment led them both down paths of so many memories. Their first trip to Tennessee in 1994 to the city park, the trip to the rooftop of the Charleston Mall, and the 4th of July they spent stuck in Jack's Bronco in the middle of the river on Long Run. It was certainly easy to feel the strong everlong connection they shared.
We are an earth-loving, adventure-seeking couple, which is why we chose the type of wedding we are having. We stumbled upon Our Lady of the Pines church one beautiful afternoon while out adventuring, searching for a place to be married. This church is unique, just as we are. It's surrounded with huge pine trees, located in the Appalachian Mountains at the most northern part of the Monongahela National Forest. While traveling down The Seneca Trail (Rt. 219), be sure to slow down and take in the scenery as well as the history. Long ago, it had been a major Native American footpath. AKA The Great Indian War and Trading Path. 219 was actually a part of a network of trails stretching from the Deep South to modern day New York.
