How do we get to the beautiful shores of Beaver Island?

Answer

You can get to the island one of two ways! We recommend taking the scenic ferry cruise out of Charlevoix, MI by way of the Beaver Island Ferry. If you choose this option you will enjoy a relaxing two hour (happy hour if you choose) cruise across Lake Michigan. You can also get to the island by plane. Can I bring my vehicle to the island?

Answer

You sure can! We recommend bringing a flat bed truck if you have one, it makes BOODLIN on the island a little more adventurous. You can make all your vehicle reservations through the Beaver Island Ferry Company. We recommend reserving your spot ASAP if you plan on bringing a vehicle to the island.

Are there air bnbs or cottages to rent on the island?

Yes! There is a good amount of rentals on the island. A great place to start is the Beaver Island Chamber website: https://www.beaverisland.org/

Do I need to purchase my ferry ticket ahead of time?

Answer

No need to purchase in advance. You can purchase your ferry ticket the day of!

Is there a grocery store on the island?

Answer

Yes! There is one small grocery store on the island. However, it's a very limited selection of goods, so we recommend bringing food and beverages to the island in totes on the ferry.

Can you purchase food and beverages on the ferry ride?

Answer

The ferry has a small vending machine you can purchase from. We recommend bringing your cooler and packing snacks for the ferry ride! A family tradition of ours is playing card games on the ride over!
