The ceremony & reception are coastal chic - think summer in the Hamptons or cruising Capri: sundresses, sandals, seersucker suits, linen button-ups. Whatever makes you feel sunny & breezy! White & light colors encouraged.
The State of Maine room is on the second floor. Head in through the front doors and go up the grand staircase or take the elevators. From the 2nd floor landing, head to your right past the City Clerk's office. Street parking north of City Hall (Cumberland Ave. & further) is free. South of City Hall (Congress Street-side), street parking is metered & paid through an app. There are also 2 convenient parking lots nearby, Top of the Old Port and 385 Congress Street.
6:00 pm - 10:00 pm
The reception is held at Apres, a local hard seltzer distillery (with great local beers, our featured cocktails, boozy slushies, wine options, and tasty mocktails). There will be an open bar, specialty food truck dinner, and a catered dessert. Our event is in the private back room, and begins at 6pm. This is cocktail party-style, meaning no formal seating or serving schedule. Arrive when you can & stay for as long as you'd like! There is ample free parking on-site. For the bar crawlers, there are half a dozen breweries within walking distance.
10:00 am
We'd love to spend some extra time catching up with family & friends! Weather permitting, we'll be recovering from the festivities on the beach. Our favorite sandy spot is Pine Point in Scarborough. There is a public parking lot near restrooms, showers, and a concession stand. It is $30/day per car on Summer Saturdays. There is also lots of free parallel street parking along Grand Avenue. We'll plan to plant ourselves roughly halfway between the paid lot and street parking. Its easy to walk to the yummy Bait Shed or classic Clambake if you get hungry. We'll bring a number of extra beach blankets & towels for anyone who's traveling light! BYO, no glass - we'll also have some additional coolers if you'd like to pack sammies or brewskis!
8:00 pm
Join us for a quintessential summer evening at the drive-in! Laura & Alex had their first date at a drive-in movie, and have spent almost every anniversary since repeating the tradition. Let's enjoy some classic snacks and hijinks together when the sun sets! The Saco Drive-In is playing a summer action blockbuster that will go well with popcorn - Twisters! Gates open at 7:15pm, but that show won't start til its dark, probably around 9pm. Its $25 per car, and tickets can be bought in advance here: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/saturday-july-20-twisters-if-tickets-946019829777?aff=ebdsoporgprofile
