Historic downtown Brattleboro, in general, is not to be missed! There is a variety of unique, interesting, and fun shopping, coffee houses, bars, theaters, museums, and some of our most favorite restaurants, ever. Some of Latisha & Cory's favorite shopping is Everyone's Books, Altiplano, Boomerang, Beadniks, Twice Upon a Time, and Vermont Artisan Designs. Mocha Joe's is an excellent place to get coffee and if you're looking for an amazing smoothie or sandwich the Brattleboro Coop is the place to go.
This is one of Cory's favorite places to visit in Brattleboro. They have a plethora of locally sourced cheeses, wines, crackers, syrups, jams, and crafts. Plus on the weekends they have an extensive collection of free cheeses to sample. (We may or may not take advantage every time we visit)
If you're looking for excellent beer and a great atmosphere stop into Whetstone and drink and snack on their rooftop Bier Garten that overlooks the Connecticut River. If you're lucky you may spy a local jumping from the bridge into the river below.
Hands down our most favorite ice cream place! This is their second location and right in the heart of downtown Brattleboro. Their ice cream is unique and delicious. Be sure to get our favorite homemade candy dipped waffle cones! (We recommend Butterfinger or M&M)
We mentioned the Coop in our description of downtown but it needs its own section. This coop has everything you may be looking for. Unique craft fair, locally sourced and organic groceries, soaps, candy, and BOMB smoothies, sandwiches, baked goods, excellent craft beer selection, and lunch specials. We stop by every time we're visiting home.
