After transferring to Keene State College for a gap year, Cory was on his way to class and just happened to walk past an old high school friend's apartment who yelled frantically for him to stop in and say “hey”. At this same time her roommate, Latisha, was leaving the apartment on her way to the gym. They met at Latisha's front door, both thinking the other was hot and the rest, as they say, is history! After that first year together, junior year at Keene State College, Cory transferred back to UNH and they survived five years of a two-hour long distance relationship before moving in together in April 2015. They chose to meet in the middle of their two home-towns and begin building their lives in Marlborough, NH. When Cory and Latisha say 'I do' they will have been together eight blissful, and chaotic, years filled with both love and terrible jokes.
On the first day of their vacation to Portland, OR, Latisha woke up with an extremely dilated pupil to the point that she was not able to see out of one eye for two days. It turns out that she had a bad reaction to her motion sickness medication that she had taken for the cross-country flight. However, this did not stop their plans of going on the famous Multnomah Falls hike. Latisha felt a bit like an idiot wandering around with sunglasses on during a rainy touristy day in Oregon, barely able to see. Meanwhile, unbeknownst to her, Cory was freaking out that she would reach into the wrong pocket of his pants looking for her cell phone only to discover the hidden engagement ring he was going to propose to her later that day with. Both of them spent the day hiking, gorging themselves on the stunning waterfall views (or what Latisha could see of it), and falling more and more in love with all that Oregon had to offer. Cory, on the other hand, was in near panic trying to find a waterfall tucked away from the packed trails of tourists to propose. He finally found a gorgeous small waterfall tucked away with a giant heart-shaped melting snow pile nearby. He picked his moment and pulled together the courage to ask if they could spend the rest of their lives together.
