On December 10, 2021 La Tasha arrived in Accra, Ghana to celebrate the Dunlop- Ako nuptials. While attending the bachelor/ bachelorette festivities La Tasha, overcome by jet lag, sought refuge on a sofa in the corner of the room. Suraj, whom was not invited to the festivities or of any relation to the bride or groom struck up a conversation with La Tasha. There was an immediate connection and the two talked well into the small hours of the morning. As they say, the rest is history.

On December 18, while sitting on a beach in Cape Coast under a full moon Suraj proposed marriage for the first time. La Tasha responded "Im on vacation! we've known each other a week, you're insane." December 19, Unfazed, he invited her on a roadtrip to meet his family, she agreed. The meeting went better than either could have predicted. Later that night, he proposed again. "Why do you want to marry me?" she said. He looked deep into her eyes " You make my life make sense". She sat in quiet awe and listened to his vision for a long happy healthy life of serving society together. However. he did not get the response he had hoped for. "My flight is in two days and I need to go home." He responded simply saying " I understand". December 21, while enjoying their final dinner together, La Tasha turned to Suraj "You REALLY want to get married to me?" without hesitation he responded "YES! NOW, WHAT DO YOU SAY???" La Tasha responded "Im trying to think of a million reasons to refuse but I can't, YES!"
