Because the wedding is taking place outside in a high-vaccination state, we are hopeful that there will be minimal restrictions come September. That being said, we take the disease and especially the Delta variant very seriously and will be requiring all guests to either be fully vaccinated or show proof of a negative test. There will be many children in attendance too young to be vaccinated and it's extremely important to us to keep them safe.
As it stands right now, you will not need to wear a mask for the ceremony or reception, as they are outdoor events. However, the bathrooms are located within the main restaurant at the reception venue, and they ask that guests wear a mask while inside to use the restroom. We will have a mask basket if you forget yours, or if you just can't bear to wear a mask for five minutes, there will also be a portapotty behind the barn that is available for use.
The ceremony begins at 5pm. We strongly recommend building in some extra time to your commute, as there is limited cell service in the area and getting lost is a stronger than normal possibility. That being said, you can generally assume any event involving Sean Spencer won't start on time, so if you end up running just a few minutes late, you likely don't need to worry too much!
They are. Your invitation should have room to list the children to expect, but if we've somehow forgotten about your darling angels, please just let us know as soon as possible so we can include them in the headcount. This only applies to children we need to feed. Infants are also welcome, we just don't need to include them in the head count, which is why you won't see a place for babies to RSVP, but please still bring them if you'd like!
The easy answer is Cocktail/Black Tie Optional. The complicated answer is that the dress code is Formal Hobbit Birthday Party Attire. No jeans, show blacks, or white gowns!
If your invite says "And Guest," go ahead! If your invite just lists you, it's because we're planning to set you up with someone, so wear something nice!
Absolutely! Our caterer takes such issues very seriously and all requests will be honored. We just ask that you please let us know of any allergies or sensitivities no later than August 15th.
Probably not. There is no cell service or 4G in the town limits. Local businesses and residences do have strong wifi, so you'll be able to get your fix. But always plan your route ahead of time when traveling! If you ever get lost, we recommend asking for directions to the Barnard General Store. It is centrally located and has wifi, so you'll be able to easily get your bearings from there.
They are very strict! This means there are certain areas of the reception property where you cannot have alcoholic beverages. Please please please listen and be respectful of any staff member when they tell you what is and is not allowed. If you do not follow the law, you will be asked to leave the property. We completely support the venue in this and our boots will be the first on your behind if you can't play nice. Anyone visibly intoxicated will also be refused further alcohol service. Again, please respect this. Nobody is trying to be a buzzkill, it is literally the law in here and those laws are strictly enforced. Why not try the delicious mocktails on the menu instead and get back to the dancing!
The easiest answer is Airbnb. There are many great options in the area for as much or less than the area hotels. If you do decide to go the traditional hotel route, we recommend looking at hotels in Killington instead of White River Junction/Lebanon NH.
