Is there a dress code?

Answer

Please come dressed in cocktail attire. For masculine clothing, this typically involves a jacket, tie, and dress shoes. For feminine clothing, this can be a structured midi-length or longer dress or jumpsuit. No jeans or hats.

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

The ceremony will begin at 4:15 p.m. We ask that you are seated no later than 4:00 p.m.

Is there transportation to the ceremony and reception?

Answer

Yes, we will provide a shuttle to and from the ceremony. The shuttle will pick up guests at The Alexandrian Hotel in Virginia to take to the ceremony beginning at 3:00 p.m. with the last shuttle leaving by 3:15 p.m. After the ceremony, shuttles will transport guests to the reception with the first shuttle leaving around 5:00 p.m.

Which airport should I fly into?

Answer

Three international airports service the Washington, DC metro area: DCA, IAD, and BWI. DCA is the closest of the three airports and is Metro accessible off the Yellow and Blue lines. It is centrally located -- about a 10-minute Metro ride in DC. IAD/Dulles is the next closest airport; it is Metro accessible off the Silver line and is about a 50-minute ride into DC. BWI is the furthest away and is not Metro accessible. It is about an hour's drive north of DC. If you wish to take public transit into DC from BWI, you would need to utilize the BWI shuttle service to the MARC station, then take the MARC to Union Station in DC, and then transfer to the DC Metro. All in all, we recommend flying into DCA or IAD.

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Please note that due to the wedding venue's location on the National Mall, there is no reserved parking. There is paid public street parking available a short distance away from the venue, but it cannot be guaranteed and is often difficult to find in the late afternoon. We would strongly recommend utilizing our shuttle or taking an Uber/Lyft to the ceremony. Both street and garage parking are available in Old Town Alexandria within a a short walk from the wedding reception location.

What will your married names be?

Answer

We are both keeping our current names. Jennie will continue to be (Ms.) Jennifer Larson, and Matt will continue to be (Mr.) Matthew Edwards.
