There are no requirements for the length of stay in Aruba! Stay as long or as short as you would like! Nick and Sandy will be arriving in Aruba Wednesday October 29th and departing next week Friday November 7th.
With prices fluctuating, it's usually better to book flights and hotels sooner than later to help ensure you are capturing the best prices. Reach out to Rachel Hayes to book your stay at JOIA and or your flight as soon as possible. More details on the "Travel" page.
We’re starting things off at JOIA Aruba and then switching it up with a few nights at a small boutique hotel after the wedding. Feel free to follow our plan or adventure to other hotels, totally your call! That said, we recommend starting at JOIA or Divi, since we’ll be hosting our Welcome Reception the day before the wedding at JOIA, and transportation to and from the wedding venue is provided for guests staying at both JOIA and Divi. Yes, of course! Rachel, our travel planner, can also arrange it for you if preferred.
Transport is being provided through "De Palm Tours". Rachel will arrange this transport for you. Check the "Travel" tab for more details.
You sure can! Just make sure you’re capturing any and all discounts available. For example, booking directly with JOIA can get you some great savings by stacking their grand opening promotional rates with the IHG Member Discount (membership is free). If you need help finding the best rates for the room type you want, or if you’re considering different payment options, Rachel (our planner) can help or book everything for you.
Absolutely! The rooms have double queen options as well so that might be something to explore when working with Rachel to book your stay at JOIA. If you need help finding another solo traveler, reach out to Nick or Sandy!
We adore your kids, but our ceremony and reception are adults-only. You’re welcome to bring them to Aruba, though they won’t join the celebration. We hope they enjoy Aruba’s fun!
If you are a Citizen or a Permanent Resident of the US / Canada, you are exempt from any visa requirements to visit Aruba. There are no required vaccination or covid-19 tests required to travel to Aruba. You will need to have a valid Passport and to have completed a submission for the online ED Card. See the "Travel" page for more info.
All beaches in Aruba are public, but the hotel JOIA does have a dedicated space right out front on Eagle Beach!
Aruba is typically warm this time of year. Expect highs of 88°F and lows around 78°F. We expect lots of sun, but brief rain sprinkles (like Florida's quick showers) may pop up. The ocean water temperature off Eagle Beach should be around 83°F.
Yes, you can. Since there is no source of freshwater on the island, seawater is distilled in a saltwater desalination plant. The water they produce is super pure. It meets the highest quality standard set by the World Health Organization.
Yes, Beach Semi-Formal. We’re outdoors for the ceremony and reception on Aruba’s stunning Bushiri Beach so picture elegance with tropical ease. The ceremony's under open skies, while the reception's covered. --- Looking for inspiration? --- For Women: Flowy sundresses, maxi dresses, or midi skirts in chiffon/cotton; dressy jumpsuits in summery hues; sandals, wedges, or espadrilles. For Men: Lightweight blazers (optional) with linen shirts; pants (linen or chino); loafers or dressy sandals (no flip-flops); optional linen tie. Skip t-shirts and denim for a polished vibe!
The Welcome Reception is the evening before the wedding on October 31st at the JOIA Infiniti Pool. While we will be next to the pool, we won't be taking a dip. Dress code is simply "No Swimwear".
Absolutely! We want everyone to join us to help kick off the wedding weekend. There’s no cost for any of our guests to attend, no matter where you’re staying
JOIA & DIVI have the same times. Check in 16:00 | Check out 12:00
JOIA Aruba is not an all inclusive resort. There is an option to add Breakfast to your stay for an additional fee. We strongly encourage exploring the island to find some amazing culinary treats. Alternatively, visit any of the 3 restaurants or 4 bars at JOIA.
We recommend checking costs and on-site food & drink options to see what fits you best. Divi Aruba (including its sister resort Tamarijn) is all-inclusive, so you’re prepaying for unlimited food and drinks across 7 restaurants and 6 bars at both properties. It’s great if you want a hassle-free, all-in-one experience and plan to spend most of your time at the resort. JOIA is not all-inclusive, it's pay-as-you-go, with 3 restaurants and 5 bars, making it a solid choice if you want to control your spending and have the option to explore Aruba’s local food scene. Perfect if you want flexibility and think you might explore the island (which we highly recommend). You can also consider mixing it up. For example, start at JOIA, then switch to an Airbnb or another spot after the wedding. Totally up to you! Nick & Sandy will be at JOIA from 10/29–11/4, then heading to Boardwalk Boutique for a mini-honeymoon from 11/4–11/7 😍 Still not sure? Reach out to Rachel (our planner), she knows Aruba inside and out and can help you decide!
We would love for you to help us celebrate but we understand not everyone can make it. Please let Nick or Sandy know if you are unable to attend.
