Beekman & Beekman

Beekman & Beekman offers limited quantities of honey and honey wine (mead). Come by our five generation old farm/apiary and future guest house on Geer Road in Hughson, California to taste the unique flavors of pure varietal honeys and the wine that premium honey can create. The Tasting Room's hours are February-December Saturdays 11-5, Sundays 1-5. For more information call (209) 667-5812.

Hilmar Cheese Company Visitor Center

Just a few miles south of Turlock is Hilmar Cheese Company. Learn how cheese is made and taste free samples! An “edutaining” movie and hands-on exhibits help you learn about dairy farming, cheese and whey processing, and you can dress like a cheesemaker! The visitor center features a gift shop, ice cream, espresso counter and a café. Open Monday–Saturday 7 a.m.–7 p.m. and Sunday 7 a.m.–5 p.m. (except major holidays); admission is free. Free self-guided tours are available anytime and guided visits are offered Saturday and Sunday at 10 a.m. and 11a.m. Summer tours include an ice cream activity.

Pageo Lavender Farm

Located just south of Turlock on Golf Link Road, Pageo is an excellent place to relax with a cup of coffee or ice-cold lavender lemonade while enjoying a fresh lavender scone. Lavender boxed lunches are available with 24-hour advance notice. The gift shop features unique specialty soaps and lotions made with lavender, yarrow and other herbs. This pesticide-free and eco-friendly farm uses reclaimed wood and metal in many of the handmade gifts. Open Lavender Season: May–July, Thursday and Friday 9 a.m.–5 p.m., Saturday 9 a.m.–1 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m.–4 p.m. Off Season: August–Mid October, Thursday and Friday 10 a.m.–4 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m.–4 p.m. Open for three weeks in December for holiday shopping.

Carnegie Arts Center

The city of Turlock recently restored and expanded the original Carnegie Library, built in 1916, to house two large exhibition galleries, a multi-use performing arts space, kitchen and dramatic lobby, as well as outdoor gathering areas. They offer a state-of-the-art visual arts center and programs that include classes, performances, lectures and more.

LOZA

LOZA Wine and Crepes is a small, family ran restaurant, ​​​​located right on the outskirts of downtown Turlock. The restaurant was established in 2016 with the idea of offering a little bit of an edge to our community. The name LOZA is inspired by the Ukrainian noun for "Grape Vine." The cuisine consists of a European and Ukrainian fusion inspired by farmers markets and the changing seasons, which helps the menus stay fresh and new throughout the year! Here at LOZA, we believe in farm-to-fork and grow a large variety of our fresh produce and ingredients at our family farm located in the Turlock countryside.

Silva's Taco Truck

Enter the parking lot from East Ave, a straight shot down East from Young's Grove. This is our favorite Taco Truck and Mexican food in town! We highly recommend the burrito supremes. There are a variety of taco trucks on side, so try something from them all!

La Mo Restaurant

This is a Young Family favorite spot, so let them know you're here for the Young/Mortensen wedding! Lauren's Dad, David, always loved the drinks at La Mo, so order a "Young" and you won't be disappointed. La Mo Restaurant is a Latin-inspired California Bistro with seasonally driven menus featuring many local vendors and farmers, tucked away in a beautiful courtyard setting. They pride themselves in serving dishes that are always made from scratch with the highest quality ingredients. Guests can sip on fabulous espresso beverages from our coffee shop or choose one of our ever-changing, scratch cocktails while enjoying their meal. Honest, healthy food & beverage, served with love and care is our goal. La Mo serves breakfast and lunch Tuesday through Saturday from 8am-3pm. Daily specials are posted on Facebook. Great Italian restaurant located on Geer Rd. in Turlock. Known for their authentic Italian meals and great atmosphere. An old Young family favorite place, you may even still see pictures of Zac on the wall here.

Dying Breed Brewing

Dying Breed Brewing is located in Oakdale, California which is a small country town originally settled by Francis Cottle and his herd of cattle in 1853. We chose our highlander cow, quite frankly for it’s amazing hairdo, and to reflect the beginning of a great tradition. Oakdale, is a longtime cattle ranching community known as the cowboy capitol of the world that is today part of a dying breed. At Dying Breed Brewing, we believe in keeping good traditions alive and paying homage to those that worked hard at their craft. We do our part by developing local craft beer made with the finest ingredients and inspired by a story of tradition. So, come in, have a pint and share your story with us. We believe we’re all part of a dying breed and your story should be told.

Castle Air Museum

One of the largest aviation museums on the West Coast, Castle Air Museum features more than 55 military airplanes, ranging from World War II bombers to an SR-71 Blackbird. Stop by the gift shop and indoor museum. The museum is open daily, except select holidays, from 9 a.m.–5 p.m. October 1–March 31, winter hours, 10 a.m.–4 p.m. Once upon a time, Lauren and her brother Zac attended summer Space Camp and Aviation Challenge Camp at this location, fueling their early love for the skies above! They always loved visiting with their parents on Open Cockpit day, dreaming of futures as pilots.

Yosemite National Park

For those looking to explore the greater NorCal area, Turlock is an easy drive away from the gates of Yosemite National Park. On a clear day you can see Half Dome from the ranch, but if you'd like to take a closer look, then enjoy a drive up to the Sierra's and see it in all it's glory. Yosemite National Park is in California’s Sierra Nevada mountains. It’s famed for its giant, ancient sequoia trees, and for Tunnel View, the iconic vista of towering Bridalveil Fall and the granite cliffs of El Capitan and Half Dome. In Yosemite Village are shops, restaurants, lodging, the Yosemite Museum and the Ansel Adams Gallery, with prints of the photographer’s renowned black-and-white landscapes of the area.
