Take a stroll around quaint, historic downtown Lexington! Check out Artists in Cahoots for fine arts and crafts created by local artists, Earth Fire and Spirit for hand crafted pottery, Just Games for fun games and puzzles, and Walkabout Outfitter for some hiking gear. Finish your walk with some homemade ice cream from Sweet Things Ice Cream Shoppe or a “wafflewich” and craft beer from Brew Ridge Taps. The downtown spans only a few blocks and is easily accessible on foot.
Natural Bridge includes a 2.5-mile there-and-back trail that goes underneath a 200-foot arch carved by glacial melt over 13,000 years ago!
One of our favorite local brewing companies, with some great views of the Blue Ridge Mountains!
Take a walk on the Chessie Trail, a footpath along the Maury River. This flat, gravel trail has lovely views and is great for all ages! Lars thought about proposing to Savannah here, but ended up proposing in the field behind her dad’s house instead.
Enjoy some local wine or beer with a stunning backdrop!
For those looking to enjoy the outdoors, Lexington is nestled in the Shenandoah Valley with access to a variety of hikes around the Blue Ridge Mountains, including Crabtree Falls, the Skyline Trail, Devil’s Marbleyard and House Mountain.
