We praise God for His abundant mercy in blessing us with each other. We met in Houston in the spring of 2024 and immediately bonded over a mutual love of Jesus, dancing, and (perhaps surprisingly) driving through West Texas. About a month into our relationship, Abby's career led her to move to Indianapolis. After selling his company, Chris joined Abby and began an new career in June of 2025. We enjoyed a beautiful midwest summer together! Since then, God's grace has sustained our relationship through the vicissitudes of exploring our new hometown, workplace injury, hiking adventures, chronic illness, and evenings out dancing. We praise God for the gift of companionship that brings sunshine to our lives in all seasons - found in each other and in His Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. In December 2025, after a long journey of searching Scripture and seeking a home church, Chris and Abby became members at Advent Lutheran, where we will be married. We are inexpressibly grateful for our pastors who preach the Word faithfully and for our church family who continues to disciple us and love us so beautifully. We also praise God for the several family members, coworkers, and friends who have encouraged us in the Lord over the years or prayed for us. Above all, we are thankful for the blood of Jesus Christ, which has cleansed us from all sin (1 John 1) and for His glorious resurrection which has brought us newness of life (Romans 6). We have chosen to be married during our Sunday church service as a reminder to ourselves and our community that the wonderful love found in marriage is a remarkable depiction of the all-encompassing, sacrificial love that Christ has for His church.
