We're tying the knot

Adrian Lara

and

Kimberly Sanchez

November 23, 2024

Whittier, CA

As Told By Adrian

11/23/2014

We met in Pasadena California. Kim and I had a mutual friend and she would frequently hang out with my friend group. I immediately was attracted to her natural beauty. Her smile, eyes, laugh, and most importantly her personality. We would have small conversations during our interactions and at one point I asked for her phone number. After receiving her phone number I waited some time to not seem too "thirsty" to reach out to her. Once I was ready, I realized that I had lost her phone number. I had to contact her through social media instead to ask for her phone number again. Of course, she obliged and that same night we met up. That was followed by constant texting, long conversations over the phone, and frequent visits to my house after she was out of work. I had never in my life had met someone so interesting, independent, & intriguing. We’ve been inseparable to this day.

As Told By Kim

Some of you know this already, but for those who don't: my future husband is a man of few words, while I am quite the opposite. So get ready for a longer explanation of how we came to be a couple. We met because of a mutual friend who I worked with at Chipotle in Pasadena. I would hang out with her friend group and see Adrian there. We knew of each other for about a year, even after I stopped coming around. At this point we would only interact with each other by liking and commenting on each others Instagram posts. Then out of nowhere, one evening in November of 2014, I get a DM from Adrian reading "whats youre number if you don't mind me asking? cuz my fone dumb and I lost it honestly..." I sent my number knowing damn well he never had it in the first place (although he swears I had given it to him in one of our encounters) and it was just his "smooth" way of getting my number. We saw each other that same night and instantly felt a connection like no other. We’d spend countless hours conversing over the phone and texting all day. After a couple months of dating, I convinced my mom to let Adrian stay with us for roughly three weeks. Well, those three weeks turned into seven years. Now my mom would say I tricked her, but I just knew Adrian would win her over in no time. & I guess I wasn’t wrong. I didn't understand that expression that most cliché couples say "When you know, you know." But to be honest, we did "just know". We knew we we wanted to keep choosing each other in this lifetime and now we're here...about to get married on our ten year anniversary. We are excited to celebrate our love with you all.
