FAQs

For all of your burning questions. Specific inquiries can be directed to stephen.lara.928@gmail.com.
Question

What should I wear?

Answer

Most importantly, your best boogie shoes. Outside of footwear, we kindly ask you to consider Formal attire when scanning your closet.

Question

Will the ceremony and reception be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

Indoors. The ceremony and reception are on the same premise and are fully enclosed.

Question

When should I arrive?

Answer

Doors will open at 4:30pm, and we will begin promptly at 5:00pm. Once the processional begins, there will be no more seating of guests, so please plan accordingly!

Question

Can I take pictures and/or post photos of your wedding on social media?

Answer

Of course! And feel free to share them with us as well! Our only request is to please refrain from photos during the actual ceremony. Nothing would make us happier than looking out into the crowd and seeing each of your beautiful faces, free from screens. Plus, we have a pretty stellar photography team who promises to get all the ceremony angles.

Question

Can I bring my kids?

Answer

While we love your kids, we kindly ask that you leave your precious little ones at home and give yourself the night off from being mom and dad.

Question

Will there be an open bar?

Answer

Duh.

Question

I am planning to drive. Where can I park?

Answer

There is a garage located around the corner from the venue. That said, given the nature of urban living, guests are encouraged to use ride-sharing apps or the subway in order to avoid the headaches of having a car in Brooklyn. As always, we strongly discourage driving while intoxicated, and as mentioned above, open bar.

Question

What will the COVID-19 protocols be at the wedding?

Answer

As of May, NYC will allow full capacity (and dancing!) at all venues, so the wedding will happen as planned. Phew! In order to ensure the absolute safety of our guests, we are asking all eligible adults to please be vaccinated or show proof of a negative test within 72 hours of the event.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

If we could, we would love to squish every person we've ever known onto the dance floor. Unfortunately, we have to adhere to strict guest counts and pesky fire codes. If you have any questions about the number of seats reserved for you, please do not hesitate to reach out!

Question

I'm coming in from out of town and don't have a vehicle. Help!

Answer

Do not fear! NYC is very easy to get around without your own car. Uber, Lyft, and taxis are all great options and will take you directly to and from the venue. If you're looking to do as the locals do, the following subway stops will get you to the venue in a New York minute: R: To Union Street + 7 minute walk to venue F: To Carroll Street Station + 7 minute walk to venue G: To Carroll Street Station + 7 minute walk to venue

Question

What's the best airport to fly into?

Answer

LaGuardia Airport (LGA), John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), and Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) are all a 30 minute drive or less to the venue. Our suggestion is to figure out which borough you'd prefer to stay in and choose your airport based on the closest location.

Question

Is there an after party?

Answer

Does Goopy love snuggles? (Yes. The answer is yes.) Join us at Melody Lanes Bowling Alley—a 10 minute Uber drive from the venue—where the festivities will continue until they shut us down. Because we can't say it any better than this Yelp reviewer, we'll leave it to Jen M. to help you plan on what to expect: "Melody Lanes is a bizarre dreamworld that would exist if Twin Peaks had a bowling alley attached to the lodge. Peter, the bartender, is right out of that universe."
