Rhode Island beaches -- basically the state's version of religion. People have opinions. Here are a few you can actually find without divine intervention: - Narragansett Town Beach: Big waves, classic scene - Scarborough State Beach: more waves, more people-watching - Roger Wheeler State Beach: Calm water, family-friendly - East Matunuck: Popular, breezy - South Kingstown Town Beach: Local favorite
- Ocean Mist: Legendary dive bar right on the ocean. - The Pub: An even divier bar next door. An easy stumble. Yes, that's the actual name. Creativity not included. - Whaler's Brewing: Great beer, bring-your-own food. - Mews Tavern: A beer menu that doubles as light reading. Titled Barn: Exeter, RI food trucks and live music, and an occasional barn cat. - Ragged Island Brewery: Farm + brewery = petting something you probably shouldn't (we've been chased by a gang of chickens here. Oh and they have goats.) - Grey Sail Brewing: In Westerly, with a distillery and a pizza dive next door. - Narragansett Brewing Co.: Providence taproom of "Hi-Neighbor!" fame.
