"Hold on to your butts!"

While gathered at Good Brews in Los Angeles with a few groups of friends for a Monday Night Football game, Lani and Antonio would meet for the first time, which would turn out to be truly serendipitous. At some point during the game, Lani and Antonio ended up sitting directly across from each other. The game soon became background noise as the two leaned closer and closer over the table, and the conversation flowing with ease, which probably sparked from a great mutual (and addictive) love of "Parks and Rec" & "The Office". After the game while everyone was saying their goodbyes, Antonio remembers saying bye and walking out the door just looking back thinking about the girl he had just met, and that he may never see her again since life and the film industry can be so fast and busy. Just a couple hours later that evening, Lani randomly got a call for a potential month-long job in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, which would start at the end of that week on Friday. A job that Antonio already just happened to be on. Throughout that month Antonio and Lani spent every day in Coeur d'Alene getting to know each other, laughing, quoting their favorite movies, enjoying local eats and watching the wild and lush landscape of northern Idaho turn from summer to Fall. Lani could not help falling for Antonio's consistency and kindness when he'd slip a note under her door every single night. By the end of the movie the two decided to stay an extra day and finally make it to that dinner at The Floating Restaurant on the lake. It could have been the restaurant swaying on the water but she was certainly weak at the knees. And the rest is history! There are certainly many moments after that fateful meeting or that deeply special dinner that showed the two reasons the other could be the one. Like their first Halloween together after only a few weeks of dating, they decided to be Roger & Jessica Rabbit. They each went all out and their individual love of Halloween multiplied together. ♥

On Saturday, August 25, 2018, Antonio proposed to Lani in front of friends and family on the beach at The Jolly Oyster in Ventura. Everyone had gathered to celebrate Lani's birthday, which provided the perfect cover for Antonio to plan the proposal in secrecy. Under the guise of a "birthday surprise", Lani's mother & father, two of the most important people in her life, were able to make the trip out for the special occasion. While Antonio took Lani for a stroll down to the water, friends and family stayed behind just out of sight beyond the bluff, and gathered with sparklers. When Lani & Antonio returned and appeared on top of the bluff to a crowd below, Antonio took one knee, and proposed to his best friend, lover, & partner. ♥
