A Letter To Our Favorite People

First, we want to thank you for considering spending our special day with us. We know that attending a wedding can be a lot, so you making it as far as our website means that you have considered attending, which we are so appreciative of. Thank you for being our support system, our encouragement, and our partners in crime. For loving us through the ups and downs. For the love and laughter that you bring into our lives. We look forward to spending time with you and making memories we will share forever. Thanks for taking the time to stop by our wedding website. Browse around to read our proposal story, see our favorite engagement photos, learn more wedding details, and check in for important updates. (P.S.: While you're here, don't forget to RSVP.) We will make sure to save you some space on the dance floor! xoxo, Savannah & Dakota

How We Met

All Because Two People Swiped Right

We met on Tinder in 2019 (for the first time). However, the first time around, things did not really go anywhere. There was the exchange of social media handles and some talking through these, but things quickly fizzled out and we lost connection. However, we both happened to be on Tinder again in early 2020, right as everything was shutting down due to COVID-19. I was apprehensive about meeting and dating him, especially how things went the first time. However, Dakota ultimately gave me an ultimatum, and I just felt I had to take my chance. So we found ourselves on our first date: a car ride to Michigan, as we could not do the "standard" first date of dinner, drinks, etc. due to the COVID-19 shutdown. And it was definitely not the best first date that either of us had been on, as Dakota did most of the talking and I sat there quiet and awkward. However, we continued to see each other, and feelings between us grew quickly. We had to find unique ways to occupy our time, such as walks, more drives, and cooking together, as everything remained shut down for the first several months of our being together. Ultimately, COVID allowed our relationship to blossom into the beautiful gift that we have today as we had to learn to just simply enjoy each other's company. - Written by Savannah

The Proposal

February 13th, 2022

I have always valued photographs of the ones I love. It always is a great feeling to be able to look back on memories with the people you care about the most, and see how much you have grown together. Therefore, early on Dakota and I began getting couples' photography sessions early on with the talented Taylor Richardson (who will be at our wedding!). Therefore, when Dakota told me that he had gotten me a photoshoot with Taylor for Valentine's Day, I did not think too much beyond that, because he knows what those photographs mean to me. He also knows how much I love the snow, and how I always found it romantic. So he held onto the ring until one snowy weekend (which happened to be the day before Valentine's Day, February 13th), and we had our photoshoot with Taylor. He was hugging me from behind when Taylor gave him the cue "Tell her a secret". Next, he whispered in my ear, "I love you", and I went to turn around and scold him for not sharing an actual secret to find him down on one knee, as that was their key word to propose. I don't remember much of the speech, as I was in a state of shock, but of course I said yes, and here we are! - Written by Savannah
