We met at Hurricanes in Collinsville. Paul walked up to me, introduced himself and was full of flattery! We talked for hours, listening to music, and getting to know each other. We became fast friends and would spend time together whenever we could. It took a while for us to really realize that we were meant to be together, but once we realized that all we wanted to do was love each other every day of our lives, the rest was history!
My family has vacationed in Sunset Beach, NC since my mama was a little girl. It is my absolute favorite place on earth. Paul got to experience my happy place with my family for the first time in July 2019. He asked me on our 1st full day there if he and I could go off on our own for a bit that evening because he wanted to see the place I love so much. After spending the day on the beach, we got cleaned up and drove around. He mentioned wanting to see where the old drawbridge was to get on the island before the big, fancy new bridge was built. After driving around a bit, he mentioned wanting to see the intercoastal waterway from the main-land instead of the island. We parked and walked around down by where the it was. He was apparently looking for a specific place my mama had told him about. He was being so squirrely! He finally, I guess, found the right spot dropped to one knee and asked me the best question ever...to which I responded "SHUT UP!" It apparently took me 20 minutes to finally say "yes" on the way back to the house. We celebrated with family and friends who were waiting with champagne!
