Owned by James Beard award-winning chef Ann Kim and located in Northeast Minneapolis. The menu is inspired by wood fire cooking and features a diverse array of globally influenced dishes and signature pizzas. Chef Kim also owns Young Joni (https://www.youngjoni.com/) which is amazing if you can get a reservation; reservations book out about a month in advance! Otherwise, we love Pizzeria Lola as an alternative to dining at Young Joni.
This is a seasonal café in the center of Minnehaha Park (right next to Minnehaha Falls) with a menu of po' boys, seafood, sandwiches, salads, oysters, wine/beer... ice cream... Just be prepared to wait (it's quite popular in the summer)!
This is one of our favorite places for tacos/burritos/birria ramen! (We also love Hamburguesas El Gordo [https://www.gordoburgers.com/] and Teressa's [https://teresasmn.com/])
A staple in Minneapolis eating. They pride themselves as the "home of the original Jucy Lucy" (and if we need to explain a Jucy Lucy to you then you must go. We don't make the rules). Matt's has received numerous awards, appeared in publications, and visited by many famous actors and politicians. Blue Door Pub is also a great alternative for those seeking a Jucy Lucy (https://thebdp.com/)
This modern food hall is a really cool spot! They have a bunch of vendors (food and beverages) offering different cuisines under one roof. There is plenty of space indoors and outdoors on their patios.
Do NOT judge this book by its cover! Their breakfast is not for the weak... It is for the hungover (or hungry).
This is right across from our wedding venue and a great option for those staying downtown. But be sure to grab a reservation as they do book up for breakfast/brunch on the weekends.
This is the groom's favorite distillery. They have great cocktails, vibes, and food!
This is one of the couple's favorite spots! Great cocktails, super friendly staff, and good food. It's also connected to Surdyk's Liquor and Cheese Shop (https://surdyks.com/), which carries delicious foods for all your charcuterie board needs and a wide selection of alcohol. Fun fact: the best man, Evan Wise, is a bartender there!
One of our favorite ice cream parlors in Minnesota. They have a revolving menu of seasonal flavors! Sebastian Joe's (https://sebastianjoesicecream.com/) and Grand Ole Creamery (https://grandolecreamery.com/) are also classic, Twin Cities ice cream shops.
Chain of Lakes Regional Park is a set of five nearby lakes: Brownie Lake, Cedar Lake, Lake of the Isles, Bde Maka Ska, and Lake Harriet. The five lakes collectively have biking paths, walking paths, picnic areas, canoeing, and playgrounds.
Yes, yes... it's a big mall. We felt obligated to recommend it to non-Minnesotans, but just know us locals will (probably) roll our eyes if you choose to spend time here.
Right in the lawn of the Walker Art Center (https://walkerart.org/), is a classic Minnesota attraction (be sure to grab a picture in front of the big, blue rooster, "Hahn/Cock" [no that's seriously the name] and the "Spoonbridge and Cherry"). It's a great outing for a sunny, summer day. Both the Walker and the Sculpture Garden are free as well! And, when you're done taking in all the art, Cardamom is right there for a bite to eat or a cold drink (https://www.cardamommpls.com/).
